Sorry a bit late to the party.
Ive been seeing the fact that theres no linux compatability on the ps3 slim.
Wheres that news come from???
So what about a prediction regarding the noise level ?
The fan at full speed will be quieter than the fan at low speed on the current version, or am I too optimistic ?
Anyone know when we will be able to pre order the ps3 slim then, or does the early september release date not include the UK ?
There's no way to tell for sure until it comes out. It's almost certainly going to be quieter than the current PS3's, I'm sure they'll have optimized the design a bit more, and used a less noisy fan. It all depends just how much heat the slim puts out, but I don't think the full speed will be quieter than the low speed on the current one. I'd like to be wrong though![]()
From the Engadget unboxing photos, there is NO power brick.
Hmm, I noticed someone mentioning about the PS3 Phat... so they are completely stopping production of those and the PS3 Slim will be the only one will be produced?

250GB model submitted to FCC same time as the 120GB so surely that will be out in the not too distant future?

That explains why it's only smaller in one dimension.
