Weird, I just called a high street place and they say they will match the £198 that other people in this thread have mentioned. The only condition is that the shop trade in place has to have a competitor with the higher trade in place within x miles.

They sell PS3 slim from them is £250 with 1 game that can be COD4, FN4, KZ2. (Which you could trade straight back for about 20 quid?)

Seriously tempted to take mY ps3 60GB + Batman Arkham Asylum tomorrow morning. The ONLY thing holding me back is I have about 4 PS2 games that will be useless if I sell the 60gb, and protected saves include 3 of my most played games (Tekken 5, SF4, SSF2HD:Remix).

Your singstar DLC will be lost for ever:( Maybe a call to sony may tell you how but AFAIK there is no way.

Anyone think that the startup time could be down too firmware that after the 1st it wont be an issue anymore?

So i'm going to end up twenty quid and a game out of pocket.

Well you live and learn I guess, but that's just really really irritating. And i've just been told that the place where I can get staff discount won't have any in stock ready to go in the morning! :(

Can someone clarify what will happen if I try to backup protected game saves? Will the backup fail? Or will it be the restore that will fail? Do you have to remove the files before you try to backup?

They won't match the £198, apparantly they'll only match the cash price which is £185.

Weird, guy told me to bring printout tomorrow morning and it should be fine. Still umming and ahhhing. The only issue he said was it has to be in 10 miles of the other place, no other catches.

Reasoning behind it is that the other place don't sell new so the manager thinks that at best all people could do is get cash and take it to another shop.

Hence only matching the cash trade in.

Either way, it's a big improvement on the £125 being offered earlier in the week.

I see, sounds like Manager is trying to be clever :) Might take an extra game to trade if they try that with me. I do not want to pay any cash at all.

I think I'm going to just stay on my 60GB. The inital "new gadget syndrome" has worn off and at this moment in time i think i'd rather have the money and my 60GB.

Yes, Rock Band/Guitar Hero is downloaded through the PSN store.

Singstar is downloaded through the game, uses it's own system which is why it's not re-downloadable.

Hopefully they'll have a change of heart.

Nope i think Sony can do it, its daft as it shows as downloaded so you cant re download it but it wont work on another system. Its some kind of way to stop you sharing songs, its a stupid idea and i hope one that is soon sorted.
Rock band DLCstuff is ok, not sure about the RB1 import songs or the special songs you got from RB2 also not sure about GH DLC.

Apart from de-activating your PS3 before swapping new units (to get back the activation token), does it affect any DLC apart from these music games (I don't own any of them). I have loads of extra content for games I do not want to lose or re-pay for. Does it affect Home Rewards? DO NOT WANT TO LOSE BATCAVE :)
