The Police Application Thread

Gratz burnsy! I had my assessment weds. It was horrible, evrything i had learnt just went out of the window! Lucks like i will be re-sitting it in 6months time.

It will vary from force to force, but most have 'neighbourhood policing teams' comprising of PCs and PCSOs. Im WYP they do earlies (0700-1600) lates (1600-0000) and half nights (1700-0300), on a 7 on/4 off pattern.

Well done Burnsy :) (As phonemonkey says, enjoy the CS, make sure you take the mick out of the instructor beforehand! If it stings roub your eyes with some warm water)

Thanks. Had my second medical today with the doc said I was "fit as a fiddle" :D

Had my PCSO uniform fitting today, looks like the start date will be feb! Felt weird wearing the uniform for the first time, the stab vest felt heavier than I expected, not long to go now. :)

Had a response from the assessment centre I took in October...

... I PASSED :D:cool:

Just waiting for the fitness test date to come through now. Chuffed!

Went for mine last year with south wales, first time app and first interview, didn't prepare enough gutted... Altho got 97% of the roll play and questions.... just messed up on maths and english grrrr!

Never mind you can improve on maths and english but not your roll play ;) + south Wales police is a sod to get into!

Maths and English only constitutes 2.5% IIRC.

Are you sure you didn't get a D for Respect for Race and Diversity (instant fail)?

This is my second attempt so I am pleased, and probably agree with that statement :D

FYI: I had 100% for oral communication, and in the breakdown it says how many people beat you in each topic..
Problem solving: 0% of candidates scored higher than you !

Nice one Burnsy.

I just got my letter and results from my Day 1 for the Met Police. I passed with 64% (You need 55% for the Met, and 50% for some county forces). So I'm pretty damn pleased with myself, my results are really very good, loads of A's and B's :)

My Day 2 is now on the 30th November.

The only slightly head****! I got promoted at work this week, my salary is actually an amount I am happy with and my job title/role is something that has lots of potential to take me quite far in my life.

I'm going to run with the Police App for as long as I can, but seeing as the hardest bits are out of the way, I feel I'm going to have to make a life changing decision at some point in the next 6 months! Scary stuff!

I have a test and interview next Wednesday to become a Special Constable, would still love to do the job full time, but it would take 10 years to earn what I do now so with a faily it just isnt an option.

This has been a long time coming for me, I applied to Sussex police when I was 19, 11 years ago, and this is my reward for my weight loss journey, so I just hope I come accross ok.

Well i have had my results from my assessment centre... and i PASSED :) :D ! Im over the moon, such a high! All i have left to do now is a medical and the fittness test :) Woo Hoo !

Can I ask a silly question, in your interview did anyone get asked about people's ethnic views i.e my example would be someone at work describes the corner shop as the p--- shop, and me telling them they cannot use that language to describe that shop, would I actually say the racial word or just refer to it as P shop ?

Might sound like a really stupid question but I dont want to make a bad mistake.

I wouldn't use that example under any circumstances.

My specific question was "When have you taken someone else's needs into consideration". This doesn't have to be racial, it could be religious, or when you catered for someone's disability.
