one i've played (a little bit too much) around with from my recent trip to Cornwall. Will reprocess, and work through the rest:

The name derives from the fact that St Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, and that one used to wade across a channel here to get to the mainland. The Norman church dates from the 13th century, and there are remains of earlier buildings. The history of various village schools was described in Richard Parker's The Schools of St Nicholas-at-Wade, 1640-1957

Went to Switzerland and stayed over the weekend, it's one of the most beautiful countries I've been to:

Some nice shots there :)

I agree on Switzerland, when I was travelling to St.Moritz from Zurich on the coach through the valleys and mountains it was amazing, the same in Austria and France, such great scenery, gives a real sense of how small you are in this world.

@Nick307

The shots were taken around the time it gets dark, so you get this period of an hour or so where the colour in the sky can really look amazing. The sky had been cloudy most the day, but the sun had odd bursts where it broke through the clouds.

I used an Cokin ND Soft Grad which was stacked on the front of a B&W 6 stop ND. I needed a slightly longer exposure to get the wave and fluffy water. I think that these have a noticable purple hue which has come as a result of the stacking the filters, although the sky did have a tint of purple anyway. I think its probably the ND filter which warmed the colour up a bit more bringing out a touch more saturation.

Don't think buying a set of filters will cause the colour/hue though; I could go out tonight and not get the same colour. There is something really awesome about shooting as the sun goes up and as it goes down. Even when its dark to the eye; the moment you play with a longer exposure its amazing what colours are in the sky.

I took a shot of the second severn crossing over the course of 2 hours amidst a sunset on a sunny evening with some cloud. The sky colour went from orange - pink - purple - blue - black at different intervals within this 2 hour window. Most professional landscape photographers will only go out at these times as its when you can get the most spectacular light.
