Hi guys, only recently started doing photography, always enjoyed looking at some of the amazing shots you lot get!
I bought a d90 off a friend and i've been using that for the last two weeks, still trying to get to grips with all the settings but i'm getting there.
Anyway, here's a few pics from my flickr account, i've joined the oc uk group too.
thanks

Excellent shots of the grey heron Pinkeyes. I was out taking a few shots of them today myself but just couldn't get anything worth keeping. Had to shoot at high ISOs due to cloud and low light to get a semi decent shutter speed but my 450d just doesn't do my images justice with high ISOs. What Camera+lens combination were you using for these? My weapons of choice are a 450d & 100-400L, but in low light it's just no fun at all.

Finally stumbled upon a jumping spider today \o/. Still getting to grips with my flash and extension tubes but i'm quite happy with this, considering how small they are. Its sitting on the edge of the D-pad on my 360 controller!

Thanks so much guys for the very kind comments! been doing it for like two weeks, i just started taken pics of the missus in our spare room and out in the garden :) i never knew how addictive photography could be!

Some nice shots there although some are a bit blurred due to too low shutter speed. Also noticed you are using ISO 100, use ISO 200 as a default as this is the normal ISO level for the D90, it will give you the largest dynamic range in your photos as well. I've found you can get away with ISO 3200 if you expose right. Looks like you've got a nice subject to practice on anyway :)

No worries, up to ISO800 for shots produces nice low noise images. Kit lens is pretty good, any specific Q's just ask, hopefully I can give a reasonable answer :p

i never get bored of looking at pictures like this. i love the fact its on a 360 pad, i can really get a sense of scale. truly awesome macro work
