Trying to get to grips with portraits using a 50mm, not doing well so far but I'll keep going.

One of my niece.

Click to embiggen...I know there're a few plane aficionados on this forum, though I must admit I'm not one of them.

I really love this place, took a tonne of pictures and all came out great. Unfortuantly after an earlier event at the british museum in which a security guard told me off for using a tripod meant that I was a lot less brave here. But I still found a decent place to rest my camera on.

That's some clarity which explains the model you have. That's one intense camera.

I've just been looking through your flickr account. There's one thing that puzzles me on this...

Why are the car bodies not showing up in a blur... or is it something that turns invisible with a slow shutter...
Ah I think I've worked it out but it still puzzles me how you timed it so no trails of bodywork would show up.

Not feeling those last 2 Nick :(

But thats more down to the hair/make up to be honest :)

Don't worry :)

I'm not a fan of the 3rd myself, but she likes it. I do however really like the 2nd one though.

Really odd hair in the last one. Plus, and this may be controversial, when you see the same model time and time again it gets easier to pick faults.

I'm sure she'll appreciate any feedback if you have any.

Woooooo~ new lens!

I told myself NOT to spend any more money on lenses and patiently wait for someone to sell their 85mm f1.8, the lens I've got next on my list of to get, then someone decided to sell this pretty underrated, cheap yet very useful UWA lens.

Oh and curse you karma! The moment I paid for this lens, the same blooming seller sticked his 85mm f1.8 up for my budgeted price. ARGHH!

Anyway, did a handful of test shot in my bed room. The centre sharpness wide open is sharp for the money paid. Corner sharpness isn't quite as good enough. At f8.0 however, everything is up to standard, corner is still lacking but hey-ho, £200 for an UWA of this magnitude is a bargain!
