This is my other Cat Flowey. She's very vocal apparently she has Siamese in her.

For some reason I can imagine your cat is singing roxanne by the police.

These 3 pics go back to the London meet and although I roughly wanted to compose them as above, I wasn't sure whether it would work. Finally got round to it and kept it simple. ANy c&c much welcome. Hardly an exciting trick but it's something. A couple more on my FLickr page but the above jumps out more to me.

Not going to post in the wedding thread but...i just can't stop looking at this photo, it is "pointless", there is nothing there interesting to look at...

Cheers Ray.

Did you order any of the tins that we spoke about? As you can see I ordered some. They're a bit more plastic feeling than I was hoping, but I guess that should be expected for the price. They're also very deep, which is great if you want to put lots of discs in there but looks a little empty and wasted with only one disc.

I'll definitely use the 10 or so which I bought but I might keep a look out for some better quality ones.

PS. Love your recent wedding shots! Hopefully I'll be at your level one day :)

I ordered 10 and i always give the couple 2 discs so it fills out more, i am actually going to start giving out a 3rd with lower res images with my watermark on it for Facebook use. Just in case they not listen and start uploading pics on there. The tin is designed to hold 3 discs anyway.

And thanks, trust me, i took some duff ones too lol and your first wedding, you did GREAT, I am sure you will go up a level next time too and even better as you get the glass that you want.

I've just stuck it all onto one disc. I also have included lower resolution images on there as well and there is still around 1Gb free. I might just start putting them on CDs and doing multiple discs, that way it looks a bit more impressive :)

On a seperate note, I've been doubting myself recently. I'm not the best 'technical' photographer, and for that reason I have struggled a bit recently. Hopefully with experience I can iron out the issues I've encountered.

I had a 8 month period of that.

I stopped using full manual and just used shutter and AP priority. then downloaded a load of preset for lightroom.

this meant that instead of getting lees than 10% of keep able pictures from a trip out it climbed higher to 80% Purely based on my crap PP skills in PS.

hope that helps.

:)

80% keep rate??? That's impressive, mine is about 1/4 from a wedding. I don't set a limit on how many I provide, but after filtering the blinkers/blur, accidentals and duplicates that's normally the number. 80% keep rate to me, you either need to be more critical or you are really really really good!

For example, the group shots, i would take like 10 to 15, and making sure in one that all of the important people don't blink or look the wrong way or unobstructed. The others get rejected, there is no point showing all 10, when everyone is standing the same spot, posing the same, only difference is eyes closing or opening, in that incident my keep rate is 1 in 10, or sometimes 20!

SS, what do you mean by technical? I am sure you know more than you think you do. :)

I don't count several shots of the same image. So if i take 10 shots of something but only keep 1 (after processing), that still counts as a 100% rate on that import. (if you get my drift).

Having said that, I might have exaggerated slightly but my point still stands that before i changed my work flow to use lightroom presets, i was getting very dishearten with my work and nearly gave up. After the change, things are all good baby :)

Oh, Love your work by the way. True talent.

Decided to brave the centre of town yesterday for a few Festival candids on the High Street. I only took my 80-200mm and it did alright for the mostpart, however, really wish I'd taken something a bit wider as well as it really was busy and hard to get a clear shot of anything in amongst the crowd. Also discovered that I lack the skill to stand on a bollard and then look through the lens without losing my balance and falling off.

Was it any of you guys doing this wedding yesterday? Couple of young guys with Canon gear. I tried to stay out of the way, and mostly stuck with the 16mm fisheye so I wasn't pointlessly replicating shots the pros would have gotten anyway.
