Love that pic... Is that an off-camera side lighting I see there, or just from the sun?

Great shot

did you use PP to bring the sky out or did you use a filter ?

Thanks, I didn't have to do anything in PP to get the sky exposed correctly relative to the ground, because the sky was pretty dim due to being almost solid cloud, what I did do was lower the break in the clouds so the sky looked a little more interesting.

@Camelpaw

Below is pretty close to how I lit the shot, glad you asked about the harsh light on the left, as I was trying to mimic the sun, but it's actually the flash.

Aha! Well good use of flash! I did think it was a little bit too harsh for sunlight, but very close nonetheless :)

cracking shot !

I genuinely thought that was the sun hence my confusion as to how you managed to get the detail in the sky without PP whilst shooting straight into the sun.

The answer ?

You werent shooting into the sun at all

Niiiiicceee :D

Cheers Khaaan, I like your image to, but in my opinion what would be really cool, is if someone was on the other side of the glass peering in (like with their hand by their forehead and the window trying to block out the reflection on the glass) at the old typewriter?

Edit: And maybe as a bit of a twist, maybe someone's arm & hand just visible in the bottom right corner, to give it even more of a creepy feel, kind of like the guy/gal watching through the glass is actually the one being watched....

Very nice Ejizz, very nice!

Thanks Ejizz (I feel dirty writing that username lol) I see what you mean and maybe a shot to try when shooting Part II of this asylum in a few weeks~!

For that shot though I wanted to keep it "life free" to keep to the feel of decay of a derelict place and a sense of loneliness :)

Here's one or two more from the same place:

(this is a HDR exposure merge, not a tone map)

(the flooring we had to climb through to reach some parts of the asylum via service tunnels several feet under the whole site, the figure inside the hole is my buddy who I urbex with)
