Jesus christ there are some corkers in here! wez130, iGiDK, whatelytom, mint_sauce, alexisonfire - some great shots, which could have easily made their own threads here.

Love both of those. I was going to do something similar to number 1 for my competion entry (Except include a lighthouse in there as well), but didn't get chance this weekend. How did you shoot the 45 shots? One after the other once the buffer had emptied? Would say 22 2 minute shots work just as well or would the noise be too bad?

@ RandomTom, thank you for the kind words

Was messing with a rework last night, need to address the upper left, halo and upper right a bit further (lighting is abysmal) before I'm happy with this :)

Yeah, just clicking the remote twice, one after another, so the shutter closed and within a second opened again once the previous image had been saved.

Gets a bit boring after a while.:p I'm going to try and get a remote that I can set to certain times next time I do it so I can go and do something else in between times.

Exposure length wise it really depends on the aperture and the amount of light around. I set the lens to f/2.8 to get the most stars but as there was a full moon out (so quite a bit of light) I shortened the exposure to a minute so the sky wasn't too light. 22 two minute shots would be fine dependant on the light.:)

Noise wise on my 400D its pretty much a non issue for a minute or two, I don't know about longer though as the couple of longer shots I took were 20 minute exposures with LENR set. What it seems you can do is shoot some dark frames (i.e. with the lens cap on) just after the proper shots and use them to reduce any noise using the program you merge the shots with (I used http://www.startrails.de/html/software.html , very quick and easy).

Is that a mono HDR? It's stunning. However, I don't think there's enough contrast difference between the fore and background. I find it very hard to focus on the foreground, the black and white dazzles me!
