I can understand the mods saying Raymond Lin can't have that as his watermark, because if you type that name into Google his site's the first hit! Couldn't he just put "Ray OcUK", or "OcUK RL", or whatever. Just anything which doesn't make it ridiculously easy to find his site, if the purpose is to stop people stealing photos.

Lol @ that other thread, btw. He received a short suspension, but it was treated like the greatest injustice ever witnessed by mankind!

See thats an issue I'll have.

My business name is JE-Design, If you google something like JE photo you'd find it, if you googled my name, Jacob Ellwood...you'd find it.

So unless I have something stupid like "LOL OCUK WATERMARK - PROBLEM?" Then I'm going to have an issue.

i managed to find a hour to spare on sat so thought i would try out the infamous auto focus on my 5d. It fared well really although i did mis the advantage of the crop factor of the 40d for these types of shots

Still getting to grips with my xz-1 and lightroom, half the shots are in macro mode because that's what's impressed me most about the camera. C&Cs welcome - don't hold back :)

My C&C would be... (bearing in mind I know nothing)

1) Slight camera shake, you can see on some of the lashes there are artefacts (if thats the correct term). As well, the line between the colour and the black and white it quite definitive and not as smooth as it could be. Try feathering it in LR3?

2) Like the colour of the grass but the subject is a bit bland.

3) Love the picture. The only thing that spoils it for me is the telephone/electric wire in the top right. That is not your fault as such its just some things we have to put up with. Maybe try cloning it out? (actually on second thoughts that might be very difficult).

4) Nice photo, not much more to say.

5, 6, 7, 8) Don't really do much for me. 6 is the best out of the four. 7 is quite noisy/grainy (maybe too much for the type of shot). 8 looks a bit flat (if thats the correct term).


I say all this and will remind you once again that i know nothing :p haha....

The main thing is you got some shots :)
 
Went to London to see family and walked around Covent Garden/China Town during the celebrations. It's crazy packed and there's little room to movie around on such occasions but I got a few images anyway.

Looking forward to going again in April/March when the weather brightens up a bit and the daylight hours are longer.

The sharpness is slightly down as I ripped these off my Facebook page (at work). I will update them when I am home.

I used the 10-22 and 50 1.4 for these, have a few other images too but still sorting through :)
