Seeing as it's that damn time of year and santa will be visiting soon, I've decided to take a photo of the tree. It aint all that good, basic shot with the flash off with the 450D.

Thanks! Aye its a shame their missing but couldn't do anything about it, especially as theres a post from the bird feeder just off the left edge of the picture!

Nice JT, i would crop off the bottom part (where the blurred boats? are) looks much better for it imho ;)

Had a go at one of the motorway shots the other day. Just got around to processing the raw. Attempted to get a bit of detail out of the sky and trees, but its so noisy.
Exif should be embedded, but the main things are it was taken at 18mm (and cropped) anda 4 second exposure.

Have another on my pc that the lights look better on, (a truck with bright blue leds on it had gone past, was quite a cool effect) Was taken from a bad position with the camera at a bad angle and has ended up looking poor due to this. Will go up to the motorway bridge again some time and try again some time.

taken in windemere , lakes ,with a camera phone 3.2mp k810.

swan was very happy with me on the floor 1 feet away from him.

im sure he was posing as he went through all sorts of postures as i was taking shots. :D

thats awsome mate whats it taken on ?

Thank you very much knowlesy, :)

Was taken on a Cannon 350D with a 50mm 1.8 (Nifty Fifty) at F/22 with a shutter speed of around 30 seconds.

What I like most about this shot is I took it by balancing my camera on top of my scarf on a wall as I didn't have my tripod with me. :D

im a total novice here, but how come the light didnt go hideously bright and overtake the photo on a 30sec shutter speed ?

I used F/22 so I could get as much in focus as possible, at that aperture size very little light is hitting the image sensor so you need a long exposure to get enough light in to get a properly exposed picture.

Don’t worry I am still very new to photography as well and you pick these things up as you learn more, I really suggest picking up a book called "understanding Exposure", will teach you loads. :)
