Yeh I did, I walked all around really, through the Chinese quarter and to the shopping centre (was told off for taking a picture in there) and then on to a few streets where you could watch the tennis on a big screen. I was chatting for most of the time though, so the above pictures was almost all I took...

I don't find Birmingham centre, New street, a very inspiring place for street, the whole city centre is a miss mash of buildings from the last few hundred years with no real thoughts into layout, sun orientation or location of certain buildings.

For example, that massive pillar in that fountain is what exactly? It is dwarf by the town hall's clock tower and the building with roman pillars on the outside.

The steps by there can make nice shots when people eat lunch there but it is very hard as it is also an access.

There are loads of charity collector/big issue seller/sub way and maccy D signs people around but it's not something that make a great shot on its own...unless you can catch one standing still whilst you do a ND 5s exposure with people walking pass.

Had a go at some black and white low key photography earlier today and this is a sample of what I conjured up:

edit,

also two which are part of a horror theme I'm doing as a mini project BUT can't decide which processing style I prefer. Theres an untouched original and a high processed alternative to it. :

Thoughts between the two most appreciated.

Is your monitor calibrated properly for gamma and brightness? Theres exactly what I want on show, on show.
im at work, I can see stuff but its just stuff - i get its hair etc I just dont think either are very good or more importantly : clear.

People shouldnt have to calibrate monitors to even make out what an image is.

Fair point I suppose. I'll have another look at them later when I get chance.

Good photo but I think it lacks 'punch'.
I've just had a rough go on my iPad - see what you think:
