Better than any of the photos that i took anyway. Borrowed a P&S and it really couldn't cope. :D

As soon as I got there I started to regret the decision of not bringing a P&S when I saw the guy in front of me around 3:30pm walking up to the gig, weaving around sniffing poppers (things went downhill from there). The crowd was mental but a great atmosphere and I managed to keep my camera in one piece.

so you took your full dslr? How did you get it past the security guys? Well i ask that, but there was a whole heap of folk with back packs. wish I'd taken my 450D with 70 - 300 rather than my 5dII :(

I took this at goodwood, for some reason none of my sports shots turned out very sharp on my 70-200 VR2,
this one seems to be the best, is it me? doesn't seem very sharp, however this is the Direct RAW file no editing done.

It's a little unreasonable to expect people to be able to evaluate sharpness from an 800px image. Secondly how about you explain what settings you were using, as there are numerous causes for soft images.
Thirdly, processing is hardly an ideal method to obtain sharp images. Even in raw, images depending on lens and setting's should look pretty sharp. Personally I don't even apply any sharpening, as I simply don't need to.

I didn't know they weren't letting people in with dslrs, they eyed up my Leica suspiciously but then let me through with it, I'm lucky the Leica just looks like an old boxy film camera I guess.

Something like an X100 would have been perfect there.

I'd be surprised if they did let folk through with pro looking equipment cos dont most events like this forbid the use of 'recording equipment' I'm sure if i'd strolled up with a backpack containing my 5dII with 70 - 200 f2.8 they'd give me a funny look at least!

My wife was thinking about taking her 5D3 and 24-70 so it's just as well she didn't in that case. We don't go to many gigs so don't really know the ins and outs, we did get stopped and asked not to bring in our bottles of water and cider so we had to drink them before entering.

Looks like you JUST got away with the shutter speed there mate. Any slower and you'd have had to have the panning skills of a god to keep it sharp!
