That's awesome :D. I wasn't sure if it was going to be a weird lighter or something. I think you can fairly safely say you're in the minority with one of those :p

Got a Canon 1000D a few days ago, hopefully get out somewhere tomorrow unless football on tv keeps me entertained all day!
Already gone through 100 shots just playing around figuring out what does what etc!
My first posted picture!

How come where there is movement in water that digital photography and post production editing always make it look so poor? not a criticism of your photo benjo but almost all digital photos.

How would you say it looks poor, in that it is slightly blurry looking due the waves moving whilst the photo is taken with a longer exposure than required to *freeze* the water?

I understand due to the light levels on benjos photo that he would need a longer exposure time but I've seen pictures which are taken in good light levels yet it still has that blurry look to it when the long exposure time isn't necessary. Maybe its just my tastes though. it doesn't look right to me.

Monty.

Trying to get a pic of my sisters snake with its tongue out lol. This one is only half out and the shutter must have been to slow as there is a ghost image. Its hard as it only does it if you put your hand near it. I'll get some more later and maybe set a tripod up and set the camera to take multiple shots.

What ISO value would be best used with the flash so that the flash can be set lower but there is no noise?

Neutral density filters can be used to cut the amount of light that enters the lens. They're used in daylight to get longer exposures.

Any chance I could have the full-sized image greengiant? I've got a 5040x1050 desktop and would like to wallpaper at least 1/2 of that image :)

I've just got a 450d so this is one of my first attempts. Unfortunately I'm only using a rubbish netbook as I'm at my mum's this week so I cant really tell if the exposure or colours are ok until I get back to my desktop pc!

Two from my beach trip today, hands were like ice after 40minutes! Is it normal to take 50+ photo's and only like 2? Quite a few were out of focus or blurred slightly(no tripod so own fault there).
Majority of photos look in focus to me through the camera but when I get home they're slightly not, is that just something I'll pickup with more photographing?
