you will nearly always get that shooting with the sun where it was in your frame

Yeah I don't know why you'd expect the hood to do anything when the sun is in the centre of your frame...

I dug our vegetable beds over for the first time since last year. Some of the veg we hadn't lifted before winter had, amazingly, survived and was not only edible but was very tasty. I thought it deserved a quick picture after cleaning them up.
