Funny you should say that mrk. I've just this minute placed an ordered for Canon's little gem the 85mm 1.8.

The 35mm focal length is great and very versatile, I love it! But there are times when the lack of reach of the 35mm is frustrating. I have been using the 35mm for portraits lately and it's quite intimidating for the subject to have a Siggy 35mm up in their face.

They are two very different focal lengths. For portraits and candid street photography it should be much fun, I'm looking forward to adding a 85mm to my collection. :)

Nothing magnificent artistically really, weekend happenings :p

Where was this? Was going to go to a climbing comp in North London, but beer got in the way!

I have the SIgma 85 1.4 myself, it's a bit of a beast compared to the size of the Sigma 35 especially with the hood attached. Found the 35 to be the most versatile yeah but there are times when I'd like to not have to crop in :p

King George Post Box Peak District

Saw this post box set into the stone wall when walking near Monsal Head couldn't resist taking a picture for the contrast of colours and the amazing amount of paint that has steadily obliterated the detail in the post box.

Looks good :)

I think my eyes and the lines in the rocks are playing a trick on me lol the box looks a bit wonky, even though it isn't!

I have a similar feeling but I think the photo is fine, but may have some slight perspective distortion.

I love these kinds of photos, the contrast of colours and natural vs artificial materials etc.

These abstract photos work well in a set rather than alone because of themselves the subject doesn't have a strong 'story' but as a collection there is a lot of interest. I kind of think of it like modern art, individual pieces often don't work for me but a set of them does.

In October I visited stormking mountain in NY. Lots of modern art sculptures in a pleasant park. Individual parts I didn't understand but walking through them all seemed to put one on an introspective journey.
