I hope this isn't a dumb question as I'm new to photography but I notice in the exif data for this pic it was taken at f2.8. The shot is beautifully sharp and all in focus along the length/height of the building. If I was to guess I'd have thought it was taken at at least f8 or higher. How come everything is in focus like that at f2.8?

Did you use spot focus and where was the focus point if so?... I'm genuinely intrigued.

Been trying a while now to get a decent shot of the moon. Had another go tonight using a tripod but its a cheap nasty one I was given ages ago. couldn't quite seen to get it sharp using the 5s timer and I think it might be the flimsy tripod. Any recommendations for a more sturdy tripod that doesn't cost the earth?

edit: For this shot I used f10 @ 1/15 sec. Maybe I would have been better off using maybe f7 and going for a faster shutter speed?

It was shot wide and at a distance so more is in focus :)

The eldest girl in this reminds me of an actress and its been driving me nuts which one since you posted this!

Have you tried any b&w conversions for this set (if you took more). I find photos of kids in set ups like this look nice in b&w. We've got a b&w photo of my mum and aunts from about 50 years ago in a setting like this and it's really nice.

Also, and I know this is probably impossible, that bench has an "in memory of..." Sign. Getting individual photos of the kids sitting so it says that with just them next to it would be a nice touch.
