I was in Canada this summer to visit the parents and took quite a lot of shots even though I was mostly at my parent's place.

Was is still autumn when you were there or pretty recent? Saw one shot with a bit of snow but that doesn't necessarily mean much lol. My uncle out west in Alberta has already said they've had -30 a few times over night.

Quebec City is well worth a visit with or without a camera - http://www.flickr.com/photos/phal44/sets/72157635019446531/

What did you do in post? Looks sort of like a HDR but with HDR used properly. There's chromatic aberration in it D:

Quebec has some different driving rules, I'd have liked to experience that :p I went last week so winter, will return again in the future and visit other areas. I was in Ancaster too in an Irish pub watching a friend's live band play, amazing stuff. Also another friend played outside Hamilton in a UK style pub but much better atmosphere.

Pics to follow :)

Leave the guy alone, it's an ultra wide lens which won't be sharp at the edges and will be susceptible to CA. and it doesn't seem that HDR-ish at all either.

Jesus christ, who ****ed in your cornflakes? Did I ever say it was bad? Infact the reason why I picked up on that image is because I liked it. I just felt that there was lots of detail in the clouds as well as everything else...

hah

Yeah, was shot at 10mm so the widest for my 10-22mm Canon lens but it was just a single exposure.

The sky itself looked pretty bland at first but really popped once I used the grad tool and lowered exposure/increased contrast and clarity. In fact I liked the effect so much that I ended up removing the grad and then using the adjustment brush to get the effect all over the sky without having any effect on the water or scenery in the distance.

Also tweaked the distortion correction a bit manually to try to get the building to the left more upright rather than with the usual slope of a UWA lens.

Tis definitely one of my fave shots from Canada this summer :)

I've driven into Quebec a few times with my parents although they're usually there to give me direction but the rules didn't seem any different hehe. I didn't really go into any of the old town though where it's the roads are smaller/windier but nothing unusual when compared to the UK.

I can't decide what time of year to go visit next time. All seasons have some awesome photography potential :( lol

It was something to do with the speeding laws there and how things are handled by the cops. The groomsmen and groom are all officers of Toronto/Hamilton and were explaining how different areas of Canada differ!

Here are a few more:

Going through that 'got a new camera so pointing it at more or less anything whilst figuring out what all the buttons do' phase.

It'll be cats and ducks next if I'm not careful.

The IBIS on the E-M5 is immense, I have to admit. Macro mode on the kit lens is also suprisingly handy, if a little slow at f/6.

Handheld at 85mm equivalent, 1/10s, ISO 1250 -
