KrooKed, fine choice of lens filter. ;) It's sad that I know what it is just from 4 letters. :o

Testing my Nifty Fifty wide open.

Quick question while we are on it...
Is "stopping down" the same as "wide open"
i.e F/1

It's basically increasing your f-stop/number giving you a smaller aperature, letting less light in etc...

e.g stopping down from 2.8 to 4 :)

"Stopping down" seems like a strange way to say it though... lol maybe that's just me :P

Thought I better say thanks to Blackvault for all the advice and help he has given me over the last 2 weeks as a n00b to all this :)

Yea I thought it might be wrong as I read in one of the DSLR tog books that is all backwards.
Just trying to make sure I have these "nicknames" round the right way.

Yep. I will have to spend a lot more time learning and taking more shots, but tbh I'm too addicted to tf2 atm

depth of field I think is a little short (hands out of focus) and the background could have done with being horizontally blurred so that it looks like the rider is speeding along..
but meh

seriously? you don't think that it looks like the background is horizontally blurred?
also, the hands are out of focus because i was focusing on his face/head. if you look at the EXIF you'll see that it was shot at f/9... i couldn't really have made the DoF any deeper.

i mean, the guy was moving REALLY fast. this is shot at 1/100 with a 28mm lens, and it's STILL blurred!

seriously..
To me that looks shaky rather than "panned"

You don't have to listen to me mind, I know the grand sum of **** all when it comes to photography. :D
