Its a tie really between oblivion and gears, however no doubt that will change very soon.

Cant believe people are dissing gears so much. If its not your type of game fine, but its a solid game and does a lot of things well.

Its trendy to bash gears because it was successful, most of the criticisms leveled at it are not thought out very well. The only one that really stands its the length issue.

I don't think it's trendy to bash Gears of War, I honestly found it awkward and boring to play. Based on the other games I like, I should have enjoyed it, but for some reason I couldn't even bring myself to finish the first chapter in the months I owned the game. It was like controlling a big, lumbering, steroid-pumped man, but that's not really a criticism since it fits the characters perfectly.

i dissed oblivion and graw because they are certainly not AAA

I felt exactly the same, I know its a great game, I know others love it, I found it a bit soulless.

I have a few friends who think its the best thing since sliced cheese.

I'm the same as you guys.

I just don't really get it. I thought it was ok, but it didn't live up to the hype and opinions I'd read on it.

Feels unresponsive and clunky to me. I get the feeling it's something to do with having played a lot of FPS on the PC or something - I haven't really played an FPS style game on a console that I enjoy enough.

I think most racers have it, unless they are on the ps3 eg f1 and motorstorm. Although tdu didnt have splitscreen did it.

I stand corrected. It's not a feature I would use anyway - now that I'm all grown up I prefer to play multiplayer with mates online rather than after school in my bedroom.

Fair enough, but it is annoying. When I was round at my mates who had motorstorm, all my friends (casual gamers) were like alright give me a controller and lets race!

He felt like a bit of a muppet saying it was single player only.

It doesn't have anything on the Halo 3 Beta, it's such an average game online and offline, and it certainly has nothing on the majority PC games.

Console online gaming has never been as good as it was with the original Xbox, Ghost Recon 1 + Rainbow Six 3 beat the crap out of anything, including Halo.

What's with all the fanboys? This thread was about the PS3 being able to cope with crazy conditions it would hardly ever cope with and it has shown its a very reliable piece of equipment.

As for the 'theres no games lol' comments, it's only in its first year of launch. They are coming at the end of this year and next. I laugh at people saying Oblivion and GRAW were AAA titles. Gears of War has been the only one so far and it sold a ton before Christmas. Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect... These titles do not compare to Oblivion or GRAW.

People spend more time arguing about games on these forums than playing them. If your a gamer your probably going to end up buying a 360 and a PS3 looking at the future lineups. Most of the people here will favour towards the 360 because it's the closest thing to a PC for console gaming.

Dear God, Usual Suspects at it again. I think we need a swear box kinda Idea in this forum, And anytime 'the usual suspects' come out with their 'usual crap' they should be forced to pay £1.00.

Then we could get ourselves a PS3 with the proceeds! You know,even considerings the PS3 is expensive, The way these gimps carry on, we only need start 3 PS3 threads, pointing out something good about the console, and within hours we'd be able to afford 3 PS3s

Oblivion was far far better than gears of war, and according to every review on the internet (well added ) up they agree too.

Gears of war was like HL2 when it first came out, nice graphics but boring and dull gameplay.
