The R9 Nano Fiji Owners Thread

I've stopped at 1080 for now because it was working without boostign voltageand i ran out of time for further testing.

One guide i found (not the OCuK forum one) said when using afterburner to not only ramp the power limit all the way up to start with but also the voltage, I didn't follow this advice (despite being from a reputable site and a top google hit) because that seems not quite right!

Ramping the power limit up to max is ok.

Ramping the voltage up to max is bad because it makes the GPU hotter and can actually reduce the max oc available.

Managed to get temps to under 77c, still suffer stutter in bf4 now and again
Might try frame limiter, see if that does anyting

Under 77?? Mine seems to run about 81-83 when benchmarking, is yours on water?

So this is happening now, points towards GPU to me, i tried going back to stock overclock and it still persists.
I've had a problem when firefox randomly would do this, normally when i open a new tab or change to a page with a embedded video or youtube (or scroll down on Facebook feed and come across a video)
Normally i could fix it by opening and closing firefox a few times (i mean minimizing and opening) or opening a new tab by right clicking on the start bar. Today i found it to be happening much more frequently so thought I'd screenshot and post it on here, whilst i was doing that i had this happen.
Any ideas?

I even had problem getting the photos attached as opening them in photo bucket caused the problem, then firefox would crash
edit: fixed it! Firefox hardware acceleration didn't like something about my video card or driver, disabled hardware acceleration in the firefox settings and all good now. I'll leave this post up just incase anyone else has problems.

Yeah always do this on both Nvidia / AMD. Hardware Acceleration seems broken on Firefox.

Nope mine is on stock cooler. Ramping to 60% or leavin default has made no difference. I have removed 2 bottom intake fans which did more harm than good. They were about 12mm away from the gpu and i think thay cause a commotion.

What i found, is that the main thing to cool down is the back of the gpu, exposed/bare board. I have a side fan which is slighly higher than the card and when it sucks the air in, one of the sides hits the board directly. I think thats how it came down a little.

Before i saw simmilar temps as you, 84c tops i believe. A bit more happier now but still want to drop to say 70

Will experiment further. I am considering watercooling but i have never done it before

Guys if i remove the cooler to re-apply thermal paste to say mx4, would the warranty be void? ive just emailed customer support to make sure

If you google power colour cooler remove void warranty and this forum comes up with gibbo in partnership again with power colour and says we did a deal with them again due to better rma service and allow you to remove cooler.

I am confused mate. Customer Support said that if i touch any of the void warranty labels then its void. Gonna try and chase Gibbo somehow :)

If you remove the green label you will mate on the back of the card. I don't think you need to remove that though.

Have a look here. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=25635573

Saw that thread mate but its 2 years old. Posted on the deal thread to ask Gibbo directly, hopefully he sees and replies soon
There is a silly lookin label on one of the screws, on the X bracket
It does actually say warranty void if removed, reason am worried

I just assumed that the warranty still stands as it is due to ocuk still selling the power colour.

I hope it doesn't void the warranty as I've just picked up my block today for the card!

If it does void the warranty, I'll put the card in my brothers computer to make sure it works and not DOA before putting the block on.

Kaapstad is it worth going watercooling? Prepared to do my first wc project for nano. Just dont want to flood the case :)

With custom watercooling you can squeeze another 20mhz to 25mhz out of the cards due to lower temps, maybe more with a Nano.

I am glad I watercooled my Fury Xs, they run quiet and don't go over 38c.

Installed my WB to my nano, only to find that EKWB must have missed quality control on this block?

http://postimage.org/

It's no were to be seen in the packaging and it will fully sealed, not really happy :(

I've sent off an email to CS and the EKWB rep on here to see if they can send me one out. Sat there on my desk waiting to be install :(
