i tried everything on net with fan curve and undverolt, its crashing , its may cause PSU problem for that? i have a 550W PSU Seasonic Focus GX GOLD 80+, its not suficient power ?
You could try lowering the voltage, start in 0.025 increments. You should be able to shave some voltage off which will reduce temps.few days ago i acquired Sapphire RX 5700XT Nitro+, on many reviews this card seem to not noisy and and not heating, but mine is very noisy and heating , temp 80+ in review see maxim 71, what is the problem?
i aquired a liqid devil 5700xt today and i'm having massive issues getting it to work correctly, at stock or with a tiny overclock applied to the core (+20mhz)i have adreline 20.7.2 drivers installed and have ddu my old nvidia drivers but no matter what i do its still not working.
i found setting a undervolt does help but not always, i have a corsair sf 750w psu with 2 8pin pcie cables going to the card, i have tried setting gen 4 qnd gen 3 pci support in the bios but still to no avail. can someoe help and figure out if i'm doing something wrong or is the card a dud?
What's not working - what is the problem? It sounds like you're in windows fiddling with settings so i assume its at least partly working (unless you have another card in as a master?)
had a titan x pascal before hand, now just the 5700xt, when i first installed it i left evrything alone and jumped into destiny 2 and death stranding, the menus in both games worked but the moment i go into the game world, the screen went black and moments later a amd crash warning appeared, (driver crash or loss of device). many other games i have do the same but destiny and death are my main ones i play
i found that undervolting the card seemed to work ok but after a while the same thing would happen, i have tried both bios's on the card (oc and unleash) and can replicate the problem on either one.
i did find when i set everything back to default in the amd control pannel the memory speed jumped from 1750mhz up to 1900mhz for some reason, and the only way to drop it back to 1750mhz is to restart my pc, as trying to manulay set it back would always force back to 1900mhz.
i did have msi afterbuner installed but have removed it completely and trhe problem is still there, until i undervolt or do no overclockeing at all including raising the power limit!
That 1900 thing happens when you get a crash.
Try 20.5.1 rather than the beta driver. Is your ram overclocked? is your CPU overclocked? I've found if the OC isn't stable you'll see crashes with the 5700XT.
Have a look now mate there are a good few up since yesterdayAbsolotely gutted i missed the RX 5700 xt Nitro+ that was on clearance on OCuk the other day. So nearly a member of the crew! Had card payment issues and couldnt get my order to go through ( now playing the waiting game for another good deal!
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v18027-releasedDisplay Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V18.0.2.7 Released.
ChangeLog:
-AMD: Added support for Adrenalin 20.7.1 (Thanks to Watcher & LocoDiceGR)
-Vulkan: Remove a registry key that is sometime added by some NVIDIA driver and could cause some issues when switching to AMD. (Thanks to ray)
-Realtek: Added ASIO files/registry keys removal.
-INTEL (DCH): Made the removal of the Intel Control Panel(s) from Microsoft Store optional.
-New command line argument: -RemoveINTELCP
Cheers for that.If you are switching from Nvidia to AMD make sure you use driver clearner like DDU.
For example:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v18027-released
-If you already installed your AMD card then uninstall Radeon Drivers. Boot into Safe Mode then use DDU to uninstall the Nvidia drivers.
-Reboot PC back into Safe Mode
-Use DDU to Uninstall all the Radeon Drivers.
-Boot back to desktop and install Radeon Drivers.
Cheers for that.
And uv, overclocking etc what's the short version?
Okay so i posted up above its a nitro + Spec ed.Depends on the card. However, a good start point is 1.1v for UV. You can lower the fan speed but I wouldn't go to low. I would cap it at 65% at 60C though.
For OC you want to ramp of the fan speeds. Be gentle on the power limit though. As it "can" intro's more heat with very little improvement in OC. It's a balancing act.
But leave it at 1.2v and start with 2100Mhz. And see how close you get to 2100Mhz in game.
Then increase power limit in increments.Start off with 10%.For me I had to start off with 5% but I seem to be the exception. Afterwards no more then 2% at a time if your OC improves. If not then leave it at 0% and call it a day. Perhaps someone else can offer more advice on OC'ing.
Yes, vram can improve performance. But I wouldn't max it out. Start off at 1800Mhz and see how stable it is.Okay so i posted up above its a nitro + Spec ed.
So its like a vega then,?
set the core and it will try its best to get there.
Set the voltage as low as you can until it crashes
check the temps and hot spot
combine the two for the sweet spot of speed, noise, heat and voltage
Got it
And the Ram, does it overclock much and/or make much difference to performance?
Yes, vram can improve performance. But I wouldn't max it out. Start off at 1800Mhz and see how stable it is.
It's a compromised relationship
Max out vram and leave core clock stock
Max out core clock and leave vram at stock.
Max out core clock and incrementally test vram
