tricky could always try gigabyte direct and explain the issues with the shop. hopefully they will be able to sort for you if the shop cant.

Yeah it should be, depends on your total system load but you can always undervolt/clock it to control the power consumption.

so just a little update on my situation with the 6800xt

i might have found the problem after 2 days of hardware and software changes os reinstalleds

i uninstalled windows update 'kb5000842' and seems (atleast for the last 2 hours of gaming) fixed my issue

edit scratch that back the black screening

As i asked above, have you set the card bios to 'silent' rather than 'OC'?

It's even worse when in silent mode it'd a instant crash

Is it feasible to try the GPU in a completely different system with a different PSU etc? Should help confirm if the GPU is faulty.

I’ll probably do that tonight I know when I put my 1070 into the system I it was fine but I’ll try putting the 6800xt into the old full system instead of just trying parts from it

so i put it in my second pc last night but turned it off stright away i was geting a super high pitched sound coming from the graphics card

hoping the site where i got it from will respond to me finaly

Care to expand on this? Sounds like coil whine. What PSU was present in the second system?

Seasonic focus 750 gold

sadly decided to give up on the graphics card finally sent it away for RMA a few days ago it was just getting worse it seemed it was instant crashing in the end on both systems

pretty annoyed prob will stay away form amd gpus again for awhile back on my 1070 still love my ryzen 5900x tho

Sound like you had a faulty GPU then, it happens sometimes.

Hi Guys, I'm an owner of a powercolor reference 6800xt. I was looking at this video bench here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ3NcHbBr40&t=223s, and I noticed that with the same card and same exact graphic settings I'm getting on average 10-15 fps less. I got a 9900k to pair with my gpu at 4.8 on all the cores. Is that possible that this guy with a 3950x is getting more advantage with the sam enabled? Otherwise gpu overclock wise, I'm boosting more core clock ( 2640 mhz levels).

I actually have exactly the same setup as you. I have the 9900K at 4.9Ghz and have the Powercolor 6800XT Ref. Model. I'll install the game shortly and let you know what FPS I'm getting on the same settings.

AFAIK, the 9900K was the fastest gaming CPU until the 10th Gen Intel/Ryzen 5000 series were released, and I think it outperformed the 3000 series Ryzen, but not by much.

According to a SAM benchmark from Eteknix, Metro Exodus doesn't really benefit from SAM at all :

I've noticed myself my card benefits more from earlier drivers (Jan/Feb 2021) and not the latest ones. I get better overclocks (up to 2.7Ghz), less random freezes and black screens, and looking at the date of the video you referenced, he's probably on some of the earliest drivers released on the 6800XT, so perhaps the drivers are connected.

He also may have faster RAM. I've watched a couple of B4B's videos in the past, and I'm sure he uses 4400Mhz C18/C19 Patriot Viper Steel. It wouldn't explain the 15FPS gains but it may explain around 5FPS if you're using 3200-3600Mhz higher latency RAM in comparison. From the video, it looks like he's getting anywhere from 80-100FPS depending on what's being rendered.

In any case, I'll let you know as soon as I can get the game installed and can test for you.
