Had a spare few hours so played around with TimeSpy and got 21,905. I'm not a fanboy but I have to admit AMD played this one perfectly, soundly beating most 3090 scores without exotic cooling or hardwear mods on an NVIDIA favoured bench. I'm in Portgal at the moment for work so not on the UK board any longer, managed to hit number 12 worldwide on air so pretty happy. Think thats me done untill new drivers or I manage to get a good block for the loop I have planned. With FSR and a 6900xt I can use my G9's and Q80T properly in the near future. Good time to be a tech enthusiast! On a side note as I think most of you will agree, putting together a rig now has been a nightmare, to get 2 working g9's I went through 5 monitors. When i can finnish the loop with a decent non Alpha cool block I'll be done for 15 months or so TFG. Done for the minute !!!!!

Glad your are enjoying RDNA2.

Mate those scores are awsome, well done! I've just got a toxic, I've put LM on her. Will have time to play around on the weekend with some luck and see what I can do. Seems to be very good silicon so far.

Fantastic silicon if you are able to achieve that average clock frequency in Timespy. Are you using MPT at all? What was your delta between edge and junction temperature?

Yeah, MPT all the way. The first LM application was ok, but I redid it and now my temps are around 50 with 70 ish hotspot. Will record and update on the weekend.

Got the fclck up to 2200 with a 1500 SOC. I've tried to work out the max achievable without crashing. Will try and optomize on the weekend. I think my settings were 525 watts and 475 a. It crashed above 2920 mhz at 1.275 volts.

Lots of permutations to go through on the weekend now I know how the gpu generally behaves. Really think I can break 26k gpu score.

Yes I think you can too, you have a great sample there.

Send me a trust message or start a conversation and I can share some Radeon Software settings and other tid bits you can use to squeeze some extra points out of your setup.

I can best that score with a 3080, if I had a Ryzen 9 5900X;) But my cpu is not as fast as that.
He's using a 5900x though.

The fastest 3080 graphics score on OcuK only has 20,248 graphics points, and that's on water and at 2175Mhz clock speed. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 video card benchmark result - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X,ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (3dmark.com)

Graphics score is worth a lot more than CPU score in this bench. I would actually bet my life savings you couldn't beat that score sarge.

Well was going well!

got a notification on the Radeon software to update to a newer driver….. did that and my timespy score dropped to 19k!!!

exact same settings! Any ideas?

bit of an update on my card - with each day the coil whine is getting less and less, probably helped by the locked fps set to 80, as my panel is rated 75Hz atm.

No whine with no load or in locked gaming

Sapphire, knowing full well about the broken pin on the RGB header from pictures that I sent them, gave me an RMA to send it in. But I'm still expecting that when they receive it that they will be like, "Oh, sorry, that's physical damage, we won't fix it." We will see...It ships out in the morning.

I'm now using my backup card, an ASUS ROG STRIX 3070Ti, in the 5800X bedroom rig until I get the 6900XT back. It's not bad, but it's not nearly as fast as my 6900XT (or my 3080Ti in the 5950X rig). The 3070 Ti is a bit faster than my 6700XT with an overclock, but the gap is not nearly as large as the one between the 3070 Ti and 6900XT (2500 points gap vs 5000 points in Time Spy). I'm selling the GTX 1080 or the RX 6700XT with my 11700K rig, but until then I have a bunch of spare cards.

Here is how all my cards perform (overclocked) against each other:

Time Spy GPU score on my Sapphire 6900XT was 21,610
Time Spy GPU score on my ASUS ROG 3080Ti was 21,010
Time Spy GPU score on my ASUS ROG 3070Ti was 15,760
Time Spy GPU score on my ASUS RX 6700XT OC edition was 13,395
Time Spy GPU score on my ASUS GTX 1080 OC edition was 7,699

Forza Horizon 4 Benchmark at 1440p ultra/extreme settings below:

195 fps with my 6900XT 2 months ago
188 fps with my 6900XT 5 months ago on old drivers
175 fps with 3080 Ti
148 fps with 3070 Ti
120 fps with 6700XT months ago on old driver
75 fps with 1080
105 fps with 1080 on med/high settings @1440p
48 fps with 1080 on ultra/extreme settings @4K

The biggest problem with the 3070Ti is that my PC exhaust fans are running a lot hotter in my bedroom than either the 6700XT or 6900XT, making it a bit warmer in the room. Actual GPU temps are still idling at 30's-40's and hitting 70-75 degrees with gaming.

My 3080Ti with 5950X is in a massive family room or den, with 16 foot ceilings, so it doesn't warm up the room at all. If it gets too hot, I'll switch to the RX 6700XT which is still pretty fast.

wow... that's some serious score there I can't get anywhere near that but I think MPT isn't working right on mine. So, when I set it, it removes ability to go abot 600mhz on the core, could you post a screenie mate on what you amended through MPT. Sure this Liquid Devil can go way higher than it is at the minute thanks.

Also, the maximum I can get the core is 2725 (benchmarks every BAR 3DMark) and to get a run on 3DMark I have to lower it to 2665mhz. Slightly annoying would've thought this would clock higher.

What's more annoying is the locks, as I can run the memory at 2200mhz no problem BUT this then locks out the GPU core... so, the only things you can amend are so limited. Shame on you AMD!!!

That means you are doing something wrong.

You are changing something you are not supposed to, like voltage or clock speed I would guess.

Yes, it seems I can literally only amend the power settings (assumed I could up the voltage)... if I change Voltage which I thought I could boom knackers it up. Just feels like the card especially the memory could seriously be clocked up (and I know the memory can without a doubt) but we can't, such a shame.

Weirdly just amended the power only and on my Liquid Devil... we have the following:

Default:
Power Limit(W): 289W GPU
TDC Limits (A): 320 GFX, 55 SOC

When I amend using MPT to:

More Power
:
Power Limit(W): 420W GPU
TDC Limits (A): 420 GFX, 55 SOC

Basically can't do anything more clock wise at all, the stable clock is 2665mhz on the GPU with both the above settings (with no performance increase in any benchmarks)... I can bench at 2725mhz with eithger power settings BUT 3DMark won't be stable at 2725mhz. So basically I'm kinda stuck at 2665mhz on the core and no where to go.

BUT and this is the BUT, basically temps go up, Maximum Power usage in say SuperPosition benchmark goes from 323W to 402W with absolutely no performance benefit. So I think my CARD is just maxed out maybe as power makes diddly difference? Basically set back to lower power draw as it offers 0% in performance? Just wondering why?

BTW, ANY hints on what I can do would be appreciated otehr than this, I'll just leave more standard!

Can you just check you are following these instructions? Also make sure you are using the latest version of MPT.

Have you validated what the maximum video memory clock is before your scores go down? Validate with Timespy, superposition is crap IMO.

Have you double checked MPT afterwards to validate that the power limits are applied?
#
Use HWINFO64 to see what power limit is being drawn under load, perhaps you are bouncing off your power limit and hence, no extra performance.

Sapphire confirmed that they will fix the broken RGB Pin on my Nitro+ and told me to send it in with the RMA number they gave me.

Now I'm wondering if I should have also asked them to re-paste the core for the 25-29 degree delta in gpu/junction temps when OC to 303 watts. Max junction temp has been staying below 105, and haven't seen it hit 110 anymore with the latest drivers. I think I might email them about that, before they get the card next week.

Yep deffo using latest but will change to your settings dude and see what happens, thanks. Will come back.

EDIT: Right, yep 3DMark will not bench, everything else will at 2775 but 3DMark just says error occurs... all other benches are fine so looks like a hardware limit which is proper annoying, I'd have thought this card would be top of the pile.

Hi all. A few months ago I became a happy owner of Radeon rx 6900xt Liquid devil. It was more, kind of avaliability decicion than comon sence to match the rest of my outdated components. Radeon is a replacement for my old Radeon R9 295x2 witch I manage to sale for GBP320 :D
current 3Dmark score is pure. GPU score 19.535 CPU 4259 :( So I gues it is time for upgrade and utylize full potential of 6900xt

Current spec:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K WC
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT WC
MOBO: ASUS Saberbooth Z97 mark S
Ram: DDR 3 Hyper X Fury 32GB
PSU : BeQuiet 1000W

Any sugestions of the upgrade are welcome. I wish to go for the mobo witch SSD pined into mobo as of the rest I will listen to Your opinion and do some reaserch

PSU will be ok but you need a new CPU, MOBO and RAM. Start a thread in the GENERAL HARDWARE board :)
