Morning,

Those with Watercooled cards, what temps are you getting?

Im seeing temps of 70c-75c and junction of 95-98c. Noting my coolant is only at 23c......

Thinking my card needs a re-paste and pads?

Thanks.

Morning, that's very high. As in poor contact of the block high!
If you can give me a picture of your setup and settings I can advise from there.

Looking back through my notes, I recorded ambient 23.1, GPU 50.0, Mem Junction 48, GPU hotspot 76 (taken from HWInfo64) while I was playing with Timespy and messing around in the Radeon software. The water temperature will have been mid 30s, probably (I didn't note that down at the time).

Card is a Gigabyte waterforce WB in a custom loop with a 5950 CPU.

I get Jct temps of 70-80 and GPU temp of around 50-60 on my toxic with a mild OC maxing out on games. But I am running all 10 fans fixed at 1000rpm for best cooling/noise balance.

My setup is :
5800X
XFX 6900XT Speedster Zero

1No. 420 Rad
1No. 360 Rad
EK GPU Block
Corsair Hydro CPU block

I can see one issue from the picture. You are going in the wrong side to the GPU. If you are going in the bottom right, it would need to be bottom left and top right to go the correct way though the block.

Seriously lol, nightmare, I just went right through my EK manual and doesnt mention this anywhere!

Damn it, thats a nightmare as that hole lined up perfectly with my CPU inlet

Yes, one thing that can almost affect temps massively too is pump speed. I run my D5 at 4000rpm. Give you pump a go at full speed and see how much of a differnece that makes. After that its a rebuild of the card as it doesn't seem to be contacting very well with the temps you quoted. I had an awful time with a Radeon VII alphacool block, so have experience of this issue!

Yes it was. However I took it apart and painted the backplate etc.

I’ll take it apart on the weekend and re paste etc and see what happens.

The thing to be very aware of it the thermal pads. If they are too thick the core won't connect very well. Another thing to do is fully spread the paste on the die (core) don't leave it to chance.
My bykski block comes with 1.8mm pads. I added pads to the back of my PCB too to sink heat into the backplate.
