I didn't bother, just used it sparingly a thin layer over the GPU.Did you use any sealer for the tiny smds or just use it sparingly?

Well glad you found a solution either way.@LtMatt
The results are in.
Not only did the 3080ti completely eliminate all stutters on Caldera (even on high settings), it actually feels infinitely smoother than my 6900xt even at lower fps. Rebirth was insanely smooth despite registering lower lows and lower highs than my 6900xt.
I have absolutely no choice but to keep the 3080ti. Perhaps I was just unlucky with the card I got.
How much are these going for?
@LtMatt Do you use LM on your 6900XT? As I was wonder if its worth swapping it out for as mine needs a repaste.

I will be putting up some footage of Vanguard/Warzone on the weekend running on the 5800X3D and the Toxic, performance is impressive.
Just had a play on Rebirth, god I'm crap at this game these days far too slow.Cheers
Like I said, I'm getting lower fps, but I've not had any cold boot issues yet, the game overall feels smoother, and no stuttering on Caldera.
I may need to RMA this before attempting to sell it.
One thing I'm gonna really miss is the sharpening. It's phenomenal and pretty much at no cost fps wise. Sharpening filter on Nvidia hits you for like 20-30fps!
Might be the local system issue @LtMatt ?

Average appeared to be over 300 FPS. 1080P, low settings, but texture filtering/streaming on Ultra/Normal and cache and spot shadows on.
I'll share it here once its ready.
It's definitely faster, but difficult to quantify by how much as FPS are so high. Definitely seeing higher GPU utilisation all round though which is resulting in the GPU working a bit harder.Nice!
I've made the move to 1440p 240hz.
Lower fps obviously, but visibility is so much better.
How much of a fps boost would you expect going from a 5950x to your 5800X3D on WZ?
Cheers

Yes I tried the sharpening with my 3090 and honestly it is downright horrible compared to RIS.Nice!

You should probably get a 5800X3D Nexus, it seriously might help your 3080 with that 10GB frame buffer from those frame time spikes you get. I'm honestly not trolling you.6900xt must need more vram....
I don't use any form of over sharpening as it introduces visual artifacts.
However I have read that is the case with Nvidia if you're using the geforce overlay but if you use the windows xp control panel to add the sharpening, there is little to no fps hit. Might be worth a try.

Hurts performance, sharpens the desktop and just looks bad.

I'm seeing better 1% lows vs my tuned 5950X.
I used the global setting in the XP Control panel, that was probably the issue with it sharpening the desktop then. I just followed the same steps I did with RIS tbh, (enable globally and away you go) but once I saw what it looked and performed like I kept it off.Was that using the geforce experience overlay sharpening? Shouldn't have affected desktop if using via the dated control panel as you can apply to game profiles only.
Tempted but no point with a 5600x that undervolts across all cores by -30 curve, I'll be doing new system with am5 chipset as I'm still using my b450 MSI tomahawk.
It does look a great chip though.
Maybe bang4buck could do with one to solve his frame latency spikes on the 3090 though

There goes the 200-250 FPS limit in Warzone at 1080P.
Must be averaging near 300 FPS in this video.
I expect similar FPS at 1440P too, the 6900 XT is not fully stretching its legs here.
+1 for the 1440p test please. 5900x could go if I can get hold of the 5800x-3D.Outrageous performance.
can you post a 1440p video please pal? If I’m going to be getting a 15-20% improvement, I’ll sell the 5950x
WZ has terrible AA. So you either deal with jagged edges, too much blur, or you use sharpening. I found AMD sharpening was amazing. Not ugly at all.
Outrageous performance.

Yep will do mate. Give me a day or two. I'll most likely record it tomorrow morning then upload.+1 for the 1440p test please. 5900x could go if I can get hold of the 5800x-3D.
I did it too it knocked 20c off the hotspot temp and 10c off the GPU temp when I did like for like tests with Timespy and Superposition.
or did you do a Matt?
