It is the first PC thing I have not got from here in years. Thing is I am not at my mum's ATM, and I don't usually get stuff delivered to my place. They have trouble finding it, and I have a lot of stairs. So I ordered it from there knowing it would not come too early.

OCUK do have it also. I really wanted the reference one. Just really lovely to look at, and the PC its going in is all silver and black.

Man, I knew this was the right card for this PC.

Awesome boys.

Yes the card is very quiet. That said, it would have to be annoyingly loud to drown out 5 amps lmao. The system fans make more noise than the card does, and even in yesterday's 26c and humidity it never went over 78. I reckon they got better later on (like BINs and etc).

Been playing some TLOU at 4k with FSR. Stunning. BTW this pic has HDR enabled so a bit bright on regular screens.

My average FPS, 4k ultra with FSR2 is 55. Way, way more than acceptable for TLOU.

I'm extremely happy would be putting it mildy. The 2080Ti achieved around the same at 1440p FSR2 and high settings.

Oh BTW boys. Obviously I can actively monitor rig power use with the PSU.

Max 490w. This is with the AMD overclock button on. It mostly hovers around 470. That's total power consumption, with a 11400F* and a Z590 Tachyon.

*sounds lame, but there is a trick with these CPUs. If you put them in a Z590 they run at full single core turbo all the time. So 4.2-4.4ghz. Intel patched it out on the 12400F, so it's actually faster. Board and CPU cost me £300 new. Man this rig has been sooo cheap. The case was £230 brand new lol (Lian Li Odyssey X).

Gotta love deals :D

Edit in. My point is? 750w. Like, 750w PSU is more than man enough for the 6950XT and your CPU weapon of choice. 850? even more comfy.

Awesome, congratulations. I'm still tempted.

I am assuming the 7800XT may perform around the same. Note, assuming. If the 7600XT is anything to go by? it won't. I also reckon it is set to cost around the same.

Problem is that is assumptions, and this is now. I needed a new GPU now. And at £620 or less if you can take the slightly tacky looking XFX and no accessories? bargain. In Nvidia terms in rasta? edges out the 4070Ti. That's a lot of card for £620.

I'm also not sure how much VRAM the 78 is set to have either.

Bah, I have already put 6 hours of gaming use on it. Sod waiting even longer.

Yeah I might just give up on RT and super high refresh. A 6950 is a more than capable card. The power consumption and heat is a slightly concern. Especially as the MBA exhausts entirely into the case.

RT is whack. Last two games that came out I wanted don't even have it. TLOU, and Dead Island 2. And I have enjoyed both immensely !

That is my second playthrough of TLOU within a month. Only this time at 4k, and I have bought custom skins for the characters. So Ellie is wearing a Mortal Kombat 2 Tshirt lol.

In gaming terms? it adds nothing IMO. Nothing at all.

I have a feeling it limits itself to 78c dude. Like, by reducing clocks. It was hot in here yesterday, and I mean tropical island hot. I live in a tiny flat with 12" thick sound proofed walls and the sun beams in on sloped windows. I also have this.

5 amplifiers. Dumping out enough heat to warm a small town. And the PC is sat right in the hot corner with it.

What settings is everyone getting a stable undervolt/overclock with? I bought a 6950 XT last week and can't quite find a point where I am happy with the temperatures and performance. I have an XFX and I find the fans particularly loud, so an undervolt is necessary.

If you can post a screenshot shot of your tuning tab with what your card is setting max clock out of the box, we can go from there.

Does anyone own a XFX Speedster MERC319 RX 6950XT? I'm seeing them consistently at a significantly lower price than other 6950s so I was wondering if there's any issue with them.

I got a 6950xt reference card a couple of weeks ago, really liking it! I am running it on a 750w PSU though so got it in the back of my mind that it's possibly something I should be upgrading? But saying that I've not had any issues so far.

Naa you should be good as long as it's not a crap PSU which the TX to my knowledge isn't. If your worried about it, just lower your core clock to 2400mhz (and lose almost no performance doing so) and you will see the wattage start to tank. I'm running my 6950XT at 2200mhz core clock, i've lost about 10% performance, but the wattage went from 330 to 200 and it still eats every game I throw at it at 3440x1440p. Good looking machine btw :).
