Pretty poor efficiency comparatively, and hardly moving the game on. But…at least it’s…cheapish?
Although you can buy a a750 for very reasonable money now as well. I know in the US it dropped to 199. Wondering if it will drop further in the UK.

Meh, far from a generational performance improvement. It's the 6600 replacement and performs like a 6650 XT so it doesn't manage to escape that 6600-ish performance bracket. Probably matches or beats the 4060 based on announced specs.
This would be less worrying but this is actually a full Navi 33 so it's not clear exactly where a "7600 XT" would even come from. So we can assume this is pretty much as good as it's going to get outside of Navi 32 cards which will be much more expensive.
At least 8GB makes sense for this product tier at sub £300.

A pretty low target.
The big difference is that while the 7600 also barely moved performance, at least it did not price upwards, at least compared the MSRP of the 6650XT.Of course, the MSRP of the 6650XT was crazy and its street price was a lot less.
While nothing spectacular, a monolith Navi22 refresh on 6nm which might have brought just under 6800 performance at 50-70W less with new CODECs and display output might have made a lot more sense than the still missing chiplet Navi 32.
Edit: but since 6nm is meant to be a volume node, they really could have launched at £200-£220 to try to get some volume. This would be reasonable 1080P card for £200 or so - well except on those games which run out of VRAM with only 8GB at 1080P.

Efficiency seems poor too. Same power consumption as the 4060Ti and a decent bit worse with v sync on (worse than the all the 4000 series bar the 4090 in that metric). Not great considering it is 25-30% slower than the 4060ti.

Uses an older process node so it's to be expected. Weird things are happening because each new process node is getting much more expensive.

gets more expensive so dies get smaller, more yields from same piece means price is same we just dont get decent performance improvements
Redgamingtech has the 7600XT with a 2.8ghz core clock
Other than being 30% cheaper than a 4060Ti and doesnt compete with it as that card is a different class....

I was just pointing out the poor efficiency....which your point backs up (ie its not the same class (lower), but has the same/sometimes worse power draw)!
