The Radeon RX 7600 Review Thread

So its as fast as a high end GPU from 2019, a 2080. which is only a smigin faster than a 2070 Super, its basically a 2080 brought down to a 2070 price because that was the last time Nvidia over priced GPU's, no chance of that happening this time.

@lawless50 GPU is a smigin faster. I don't think that's bad, its not great, its a lot better than the 4060Ti, relatively, which is a 3060Ti re-branded and priced as it was, the RX 7600 isn't that, its faster than the $330 GPU its replaced for $270.

In this climate, its worth acknowledging at least, almost makes you want it to do well, because if it does it at least sends the right message. sort of....

2070 supers are going for about £200-230 on ebay, so seems about right.

Just glad to be back PC gaming again... unless there is another crypto boom where I can sell for £800, and it's back to playstation :D

Seems not bad for price really to me I'm very tempted

Wonder how will fare Vs 3060 in VRAM intensive games I'm sure someone will test

Maybe less grunt but more VRAM and if the 3060 nudges a bit below 300 be interesting comparison

The 7600 is incompatible with approximately 20% of power supply cables including all cables from seasonic and some braided 3rd party cables

This is due to a missed design flaw where the power connector on the GPU is receded too far back

its like amd is trying hard to fail. the company is just a mess. dont they learn from the mistakes of others?

AMD says it will be fixed shortly

Sounds like it's pretty simple, the issue is caused by the backplate on the reference card being slightly too wide for the pcb around where the power connector is and it can result in the power cable not being fully seated. It sounds like amd was already aware of this and reference cards are already being manufactured with a redesign

Well amd have provided nvidia proof that the good old 6+2 pin cable is a fire hazzard and and thing of the past and everyone should switch over to 12vhpvr cable.

At this point its a sad state of affairs when the only one you can trust not to burn your house down is intel.

Just ordered one, I see lots of people comparing it to cards £150 more expensive for some reason... £259.99 i got it for, and it will be a HUGE upgrade on my gtx 1070

It didn’t help that they both launched around the same time, so plenty of reviewers (especially on YouTube) did head to heads and seemed to compare them directly, even though they clearly aren’t meant as direct competitors.

Although the efficiency could be better, I don’t think this is a bad card for its price but it is quite tricky when the 6700 is priced so close to it now. If this card was £200 or close, it would be very impressive but that’s probably asking too much. Wonder if the reference design will come to the uk, I think it looks pretty nice.

Anyway, I’m rambling - enjoy the upgrade!

for those interested
started with a GTX 1070 moved to a RX 7600

I was playing Halo Infinite at 2560x1440 (render resolution 1366x768) on the lowest settings to get a stable experience.

Im not playing Halo Infinite at 2560x1440 native, on high settings, even putting RT shadows on I stay above 60fps.

Horizon zero dawn at native 1440p is 70fps+ consistantly, previously even with heavy upscaling I'd struggle to stay in the high 50s

Marvels spiderman is now 100+ fps with high settings at 1440p with FSR 2.1, previously I had frequent drops to the mid 40s

Control on default settings is now 165fps, and at 1080p with RT on i can get 60fps+

People saying it's a downgrade are delusional...

And this is grouped with an i7 6700k on a PCIe 3.0, so i'm gimping the performance slightly, also I don't have Rebar.. Something else to consider is right now there are unused AI cores for frame generation when that tech comes about.. so it'll only get faster, whilst the 1070 will only get slower
