The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Good, keep us updated.
I left watercooling but if it improve UV stability i may order a Bykski waterblock too for my MBA.

GPU/VRM temps were sweet, VRAM not. Tried twice fitting to Merc XTX and giving up. Not fitting to Nitro+ as the Merc is better sample. Just waiting for Alphacool Merc block to come now.

Any tips on the 110c Hotspot issue. I just got a liquid devil and it suffers from high Hotspot temp.
Tried to repaste it, still the same. From the spread in the paste it almost seems like there's an elevated spot in the die itself.
I tried many times with different kind of pressure and paste, still hot.

Going to try a pad next week, and if that doesn't work, it's going back. Luckily returns are pretty chill here in Norway.

That is shocking! RMA for sure.

It's disappointment on the basis that AMD have capped the power-limit to +15%.

It is not fast enough for what it is, it is missing about 5% performance.
Looking forward to really push mine. Unfortunately it suffered from 110C Hotspot Temps and went back yesterday. Hopefully I get one back that works.
Even used this video as evidence it was overheating.

I wish I waited a few more days before purchasing my RX 7900XT as it comes with the last of us part 1 game bundle now and I was planning on buying that.

Email the retailer see what they can do n
It says only applies to cards bought from today so I'm not sure there is anything overclockers can do as I'm guessing they have to show proof to get the codes..
Typical tho as the last few GPUs I purchased I got games I didn't want or already had lol.

Worth a message to them or a support ticket to AMD to see if they can help. Can't hurt.

New driver available 23.3.1
i installed it, it seems to have the idle power issue back (my RAM is stuck at 909Mhz most of the time. i rarelly go bellow 60W power consumption)
i may revert to 23.2.1 :(

It' HDR causing the high idle power. 23.3.1 is fine.

God damnit, I've not had much luck picking 4090s.

FE and pretty much every other one idle 21-23. That model specifically always idles much higher.

Actually I just read apparently when you first start the PC up it can be as low as 28. But if you like watch a video or something when you stop. It remains at around 40.

Anyone else notice the new Fan intake temp sensor on the new AMD Adrenaline driver?.
Mine sits at 0c.
What is this for?.
It's for the MBA card. The MBA cards have a temperature sensor in the first fan blade (the fan furthest away from the PCIe bracket) that monitors the inlet ambient temperature.
