Out of the box, it’ll retake the fastest cpu gaming crown from the 7950XD IMO, basing this off testing with the 7950X3D running with one CCD. However, I believe with both tuned, the 7950X3D with SMT disabled and all 16 cores enabled and properly tuned with curve optimiser will be faster overall. The 7950X3D has the benefit of binned cores also, and my second CCD is very good in deed, with an SP rating of 121. My 7950X for comparison has an SP rating of 117. From looking around at other 7950X3D samples, they also appear to be similar quality.

I'm a fan of eeking every last % from the hardware I have - tough decision indeed.

Probably best to go with the 7950X3D. I'm sure you'll have no trouble shifting it if you do change your mind, they are in short supply and high demand worldwide atm.

Any tips on the 110c Hotspot issue. I just got a liquid devil and it suffers from high Hotspot temp.
Tried to repaste it, still the same. From the spread in the paste it almost seems like there's an elevated spot in the die itself.
I tried many times with different kind of pressure and paste, still hot.

Going to try a pad next week, and if that doesn't work, it's going back. Luckily returns are pretty chill here in Norway.

Well my 7900XTX lasted less than 24hrs and it is going back. Will not display HDR with VRR on my samsung Q90A. Works perfectly with nvidia card. Doesn't work with the AMD card. Switch off VRR and HDR works fine. Enable VRR HDR switches off and everything looks washed out even though it says it's freesync premium PRO. Bit miffed to say the least.

Very strange, keep in mind that you have to tune HDR to work properly on windows.
i have a LG OLED C2 TV, HDR and VRR are both working perfectly fine together on my 7900 XTX.

I’d like to accidentally have that happen but firstly a little too long for my case without me removing front fans, secondly spending £1200+ its 4080 territory.
