After a long time thinking what 4090 to get and posting on the forum from some advise. Today i decided to switch it up and ordered nitro xtx and a7800x3d but i have to wait till there in stock has it was pre-order only for the gpu.
I'm still deciding on motherboard with pci5 (looking at the carbon) and other parts like what case etc.
Its going to be a big upgrade for me from 1080ti and a i7 6900k.

Nice switch out. I looking at a 7900xtx as an upgrade from my 3090. Let us know how you get on.

Nitro+ doing really well! Mine arrived tomorrow or Wednesday :D

@Kavalier that's pretty much expected with amd, they tend to have a rise in performance along the drivers.. it was like that with the radeon vii, 5700 xt, 6900 xt, same story with the 7900 xtx.. Not that I notice anything while gaming, but well, more (in this case) is always better :D :D

I've received my Nitro+ two days ago but pretty sure I'm going to have to return it due to the third fan not spinning (it failed Sapphie TRIXX), just so I don't look like a complete numpty could any other 7900xt Nitro+ owners confirm that all three fans on their GPU's spin under normal load and it's not some new design where the third fan only kicks in when hot. It's working fine and holding at temps between 60c and 70c.

There's a Sapphire 7900XT at £750 on the store, think it's a reference card; is the Pulse £50 better at £800 if i'm not overclocking? And at that price range would a 4070 Ti be a better choice? Or a Sapphire Nitro 6950XT for a bit less. I have a 4K screen, but normally just run a mix of mid and high settings which look fine. Mostly play fairly easy to run stuff then bosh a AAA single player like plague tale or cyberpunk for 30 hours before getting back to like Destiny or Diablo 3. PSU is a decent 750W and happy to undervolt the card.

Pretty sure all 3 of my fans spin on load however, I rarely take any notice as I can never hear it... come to think of it, I might need to check that too? @LtMatt any ideas?
