What are your thoughts about the Red Devil? Specially compared to the Nitro +

At the same price? Sapphire all day every day. The card is better looking, and Sapphire generally is thought of as the S-Tier of Radeon AIBs. I think both cards are a bit too expensive at £900 considering you can get the Pulse for £800.

Youd probably be lucky to get one that didn't, and I'd also be wary of people saying theirs are 100% silent. Some people are deaf :p

Some of us went to too many loud gigs when we were younger and lost a big chunk of our upper frequency hearing, but honestly I don't really hear my card over the noise of the rest of the tower. I'm not playing CS:GO at 600fps either, so that likely helps :)

Not exactly, there is a bit of a difference in price but not a lot. I want either of these two because of the looks really (or the reference car but apparently is EOL), I think all the other cards are ugly. (I am talking about XTX)

Personally I'd save money and get the Sapphire Ref card, mine's been great. Unless you're a lover of RGB ofc.

OCUK have bumped the price of that up now to £780 :( Maybe they are selling more due to the 4070 being so poor.
Though I'm kinda glad they put the price up, I was starting to condition myself into thinking £750 was ok, but then saw the price has gone up £30 and thought nope!. Must remain strong, summer is here, all games I play run fine on my old Vega and new games just seem to be remakes, broken, rubbish or a combination of all 3 . So thanks OCUK you saved me £750 and cost yourself a sale :p

I thought about a ref card but some reviews had noted that that cards with three 8 pin power connectors had more performance stability, compared to 2 power connectors, but was the issue with the reference cooler, not enough liquid, which moved me to an AIB card.

Nah the issues were with the XTX and not the XT cooler, the XT is fine :)

yeah as started above the reference cooler issues was only with the XTX cards. Not looked at reviews for the XT recently but wasnt the difference between the XTX reference and more 'premium' cards like the Nitro+ only like 5%.

I guess they sold a decent amount of stock at £750.

They had the nitro for £800 but that only lasted hours (so can only summise that sales sky rocketed for it at that price, hence why it went back up so quickly).

I think you are right about the 4070. It made the 7900xt look like a great deal at £750. 35% more performance and 20gb vram for £200 more.

If you spending near £600 anyway, why not just add a bit more and get something significantly faster..

Thanks for the info on the reference cooler thought it applied to XT and XTX.

Just checked TPU review of the 7900XTX, they put the Nitro 2% faster at 1080p and 3% faster at 1440p and 4k. It does run quieter but Personally I'd go with reference and save some cash.
May spilt the difference and get the, Asrock Radeon RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming OC, at £830, the cheapest, is the Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Gaming, at £780, but that reference cooler problem, though confined to XTX, still niggles at the back of my mind.

Also noisy fans bug me.

I think the reference is quite loud compared to some of the more premium aftermarket ones, judging by reviews.

I like cool and quiet so do not mind paying a bit of a premium for a better cooler.

You can see here for example, that the Nitro XTX is much quieter than the reference. 31 Db compared to 39Db

Would no doubt be similar with the XT as well.

I mean, the reference figures arent awful, but you probably wouldn't class the as "quiet" compared to the Nitro cooler.

Oh man, now that I was about to get the XTX nitro they put it up in price! I am seriously unlucky... the same happened when I was about to pull the trigger on the XT nitro...

Get the Pulse for £999.99. Unless the Nitro cooler is worth £130 to you. Just seen that the Powercolor referene 7900XT is now £749.99.
I DON'T need it....

Only 1 yr warranty on that one though, that's the main thing reminding me I don't need it, my 3060ti still has more warranty than that :P

For me now it would probably be between the pulse and the hellhound (both 3yr), I also wouldn't be surprised if the ASrock dropped a bit soon, as they seem to be going quite aggressive on 6xxx series prices.

Hopefully the £ doesn't tank too hard in light if the interest rate change earlier and we'll see the slight drops continue over the coming weeks

I really hope so, I just sold my old 3070 and now I got no GPU until I decide to go for something :D

The pulse has no RGB at all does it? not even the letters?
