The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

The high multi-monitor power draw issue affected RDNA2 for some in early driver releases but they managed to iron it out so I expect the same here.

Yes and no. Yes it improves but even on rdna2 now idle power draw is relatively high. As of today, multi monitor idle and video playback power draw on the 6800, 6800xt, 6900xt and 6950xt are all 50% to 100% higher than an rtx3090. So there is clearly room for software improvement and not just a bug fix

Multi monitor idle:

6800xt/6900xt/6950xt: 41watt
7900xtx: 103watt
Rtx3090: 31watt
Rtx4080: 23watt

YouTube video:

6800xt/6900xt/6950xt: 44watt
7900xtx: 88watt
Rtx3090: 28watt
Rtx4080: 20watt

Before v22.12.2 @stock GPU insta black screen on any 3DM load...

Now to test some other issues with new driver vs old :) ....
I checked but no difference in my stock core clock. It always varies between 3080-3105Mhz, seems to change a little between restarts. Checked on the new driver and first saw 3080Mhz.

Thanks @Gibbo!

Please do check the temps and fan noise while I wait for my card to arrive. Ordered one last week but still has not shipped. :D

Played 2 hours of Darktide last night, on high settings at 1440 and was getting 159FPS. I could not hear the fans and when I checked the junction temp it was 60c.

Technically I ordered the Pulse back on the original launch day after I couldn’t get a Nitro as they sold out too quick. There’s a load of cards going up on OCUK today and I was able to upgrade my Pulse order to a Nitro yesterday and it arrived this morning! Incredible service by OCUK.
Wait! So they received Nitro+ stock?
