The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

AMD tend to over juice their cards so they run hotter than they need to. With a couple of clicks you can under volt your card so it performs the same if not better while using less volts and running cooler.
Yup but not just over juice. Usually the last few hundred mhz on the core clock gives next to no performance while drinking a lot more power. I can highly recommend that anyone on RX 6000 series or 7000 series try and lower the core clock. Start small 100-200mhz.

Paid £900 for my Gigabyte 7900XTX last December, it has been a brilliant buy. Only 4K gaming. Most gaming frame rates have been in the triple digits, Stalker is pushing it, but it’s still solid. Just can’t justify a 4090 when this card gives such a solid gaming experience.
Agreed, I dropped down from a 4090 early this year as wasn't gaming a great deal and been great at 4k with the stuff I play :)

Are we talking enough power than warrants a decent money saving throughout the year?

Just strikes me as a little odd for a gpu with no successor to be doing so well, like the whole it's too good to be true but I'll find out soon enough!

I have the XFX one too. Paid 730 for mine a month or so ago new. Great card and performance. I might look into under voting too but it doesn't run too hot in my new case anyway.

I've had m XFX 7900xtx card since release and it's been fantastic, cost me £1200 but it was still cheaper than the 4080. I always go for the Black edition of XFX cards.

My 6950XT will draw around 330watts stock sometimes 350 depending on the game. With my very aggressive downclock from 2760 core clock to 2200 core clock and nothing else(no UV, no power limiter. no memory clocking) wattage drops to 220 on average with a few games(usually unity based) pushing it to 250-260ish. Performance loss is around 8-10%.

Paid £560 for my MSI card a few months back. The reviews I read suggested it wasn't the best of the XTXs, but it was cheap enough I decided to take a chance on it. It might not be the highest clocker, but it runs cool and quiet and uses about 300w out of the box. I've been really happy with it at 4K coming from a 6900 XT that found a new home in my sim rig PC.

I don't play a lot of new titles so it's mostly been playing older stuff (everything from the original Thief up to Space Marine 2) but I can't fault it. It's been nice to just stick everything on high/ultra settings and still be hitting my 118 FPS cap in the majority of titles.

I use Linux instead of Windows and have had zero driver issues or anything like that.
