The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

Up to 96C, when ambient is only 20C. Dunno what's gonna happen in summertime...
But mostly i play with reasonable settings that game most of the time keeps 144 fps cap, then temps are normal. Memory junction 86-90C and GPU junction 76-82.
Tried to put thermal pads under backplate, on VRAM spots. But it decreased temp only by 2C :D

Anyways i accept that memory temp, but interesting to know what's it like on better models, still quite high?
Your MBA card memory temp looks normal, my card memory temp when idle is 66c, underload 80c to 90c.

I decided to take the plunge on a Sapphire 7900XT (not the Pulse).

Just to check, I only have a PCI-E v3 motherboard, not a v4. It'll still be alright wont it? It's backwards compatible and wont be horribly bottlenecked?
You will be fine for most games. Make sure in your motherboard settings your PCIe slot is set to x16

Here is one at 1440p Minimum (i had to change render resolution back to 1440p as it defaults to 720p and I turned off CAS sharpening)

I think 400fps is crackable on this for someone with a decent CPU and overclocking skills.

Hey gang :)
Just here to snoop around and steal your secrets aha. I have a 7900 XTX Red devil and gotta admit, it's a great-looking card, runs super quiet and cool but unfortunately, mine is a bit of a lemon. I haven't been able to crack 16, 000pts on Port Royal best score is 15694 pts. Really happy with the gaming performance in general though.

@LtMatt did you try the MW2 benchmark with the 4090?
Does this look about right? https://youtu.be/hZ4JDDCnOi0?t=647
I never tested the basic preset, I tested slightly lower than that but it should be pretty similar.

Here's what my 4090 GameRock scored (now sold)

Here's what my 7900 XTX MBA card scored (now sold)

I've not rerun it on the Nitro as of yet.

I will ask if flash to Nitro is possible on Pulse. Will let you know for sure.

Legend, Cheers mate, had to buy a new case in preparation for swapping the MBA out for the pulse given its longer!

Currently AMDVBFLASH which support RX 7900 series has not got SSID over-ride, which existed in past versions.

So no cross-flashing :( , see my post here on MBA XTX flash to XFX XTX MERC with higher PL.

Sounds about right for stock performance.
Do you have the oc bios on (it is default I think) and have you overclocked / undervolt the card at all?

Max power limit, core at 3000Mhz and undervolt. Try 1.000mv-1.050mv. Lower more chance of instability but higher score. You want to find the lowest point you can go without crashing. Fans 100% always, memory try 2700Mhz no fast timings, then try 2800Mhz. At some point memory will cause score to degrade. Note, this won't be stable in games.

Thats a shame, however, I'm happy enough, I have a 110 hotspot MBA card currently, the Pulse is currently on a plane and as soon as it lands I'll be getting my replacement (collecting a couple and chosing the best one) - Going from 2 x 8 pin to 3 x 8 pin for that little bit of headroom when I finally get a block for it will be enough for me.

Also meant I had to upgrade my trusty case Air 540, to a Lian Li Evo - But thats not such a BAD thing :D - Appreciate you keeping me updated.

@LtMatt

Fitted Red Devil XTX today :) .

Auto OC GPU via driver panel seems similar to my MBA XTX (36.1%), but lower than Nitro XTX (54.0%). The Nitro on driver v23.1.1 SMU FW 0.78.76 is circa 3110-3151MHz (19 runs), MBA (faulty vapor chamber) is 3012-3079MHz (4 runs), RD 3023-3059MHz (4 runs).

When AOC is run it bumps PL by 10%, then tests, this was Nitro on STD/OC VBIOS.
