The Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) Owners Thread.

I decided to take the plunge on a Sapphire 7900XT (not the Pulse).

Just to check, I only have a PCI-E v3 motherboard, not a v4. It'll still be alright wont it? It's backwards compatible and wont be horribly bottlenecked?

Gotta agree luv the look of Red Devil...

To get on The Owners List all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Radeon RX 7900 XT(X).

Higher end model owners, how are your memory junction temps on XT/XTX?

As MBA owner i'm still a bit disturbed as it goes 10C higher than GPU junction...

Memory junction should be the highest temp. Anything under 108c is perfectly fine believe it or not. What temps are you seeing?

Up to 96C, when ambient is only 20C. Dunno what's gonna happen in summertime...
But mostly i play with reasonable settings that game most of the time keeps 144 fps cap, then temps are normal. Memory junction 86-90C and GPU junction 76-82.
Tried to put thermal pads under backplate, on VRAM spots. But it decreased temp only by 2C :D

Anyways i accept that memory temp, but interesting to know what's it like on better models, still quite high?

What card are you using, MBA? I found memory temps got worse on the MBA after taking the card apart. If you do dismantle it, I think you need to do what @gupsterg suggested in this post with the memory putty before reassembly.

I think there might be a problem with the Adrenaline drivers and opacity / overlays - I'm in a Teams meeting and the names of everyone that are overlayed on their camera feed are flickering like hell. Anyone else noticed anything like this at all?

Can’t say I have tbf and I use Teams everyday for calls and presentations.

Based on looks alone it would be the red devil. Also that Merc card is super long so might have to worry about size a bit more (the red devil is a thicc boy though)
I can confirm the Merc is VERY long. The cooling is good (as a result of the huge heatsink), so overclocking might be a decent, but the fans are extremely loud (they go 3000+ rpm).

With the size of the cooler would the fans necessarily have to be so loud to be effective when the card is being pushed ..?

I have tried to set the maximum GPU frequency at 2750 MHz in Adrenalin software, run Cyberpunk again, but it crashed when GPU clock reached 2875 MHz. So the question is: why Adrenalin can't save my frequency settings?

I'm attaching GPU-Z statistics for reference, where you can notice a spike suddenly before the game crashed

It is longer but thinner. Are you using AMD Wattman fan curve or bios fan settings? I remember mine was max out @ 47% around 2000rpm (even this rpm is very loud) with default bios unless I use the fan curve in WattMan which will push the fan speed to around 90%.

The fan on Merc is terrible, it is loud enough at around 1200-1400rpm. The Aorus I have now is quiet even at 1600rpm.
