The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

I just remember the days when I bought a 512 mb HD3850 for £50 brand new (upgrade from 8600 GT) Then a HD4850 for £85 or around that. Heck I got a HD 5850 for £100. It's just too expensive now. I used to love PC gaming :(
I can see why the so called mainstream is heading £700+, but I'll be told it's because everythings gone up in price but I'll guarantee you they wouldn't be this high if no one bought them and later on the price will drop so much for because everythings gone up

It's not only that we over paying while they stripping down the cards and uplift we getting each generation

Nvidia don't even care for gamers they built the cards with AI in mind yet they still getting away with it, AMD isn't immune either.

I just plugged it in as it came, only 12x6 cable plugged in only and it booted up matching the rest of the PC, just constantly flowing through all the RGB spectrum. Maybe MSI Centre is the reason, not sure.
Just to confirm, you've not connected the ARGB cable to a header on your mobo?

Yeh i went from a 3080ti to 9070xt my god ive not got a space heater anymore.

Monster hunter wilds - 83c the 3080ti was
9070xt the highest i saw was 53c.

30xx were power hungry and hot as hell
flagships obviously, but tbh the XT doesnt exactly sip power tbh, the 9070 though that is an efficient beast tbf. its a trade off, the 3070 was ok as curve in place and sipped power, i finding the XT drawing substantially more, obviously its a trade off more power=more performance

You fool ! They must have seen you coming :D

They are all over charging. A mid tier card at 600 plus isn’t a bargain no matter what people tell themselves (the 5070 just happens to be monumentally garbage in comparison) Sadly people will buy them and the price will continue to go up.

If AMD can keep these cards at recommended we might see a small change forcing Nvidia to respond. I don’t see that happening. Hell, prices on overclockers have been going up even with no stock showing.

Enjoying FSR4 immensely, quality and framerate are fantastic, playing Marvel Rivals and Warhammer at over 170 FPS at 4K and only 175 watts on my RX 9070 is fantastic.
The only noticeable glitches I have seen are on the name plates above characters as shown, but this is only in fast movement and as you can see the characters are perfectly clear despite also moving fast.

I'm still yet to try FSR, I need to check the list to see if I have any compatible games.

As far as I understand it you can enable FSR4 in adrenalin for games using 3.1

Anything prior to that it won't work

Like I say, as far as I understand it.

Ah I see, I am also hearing its possible to enabled it for some DLSS games using a tool someone has created.
I'll do some reading :)

Unforunately it doesn't work that way. If they can't make margin there, but can somewhere else, they simply wont make these parts at all.

For example, now Nvidia has tasted the crazy margins on Crypto/AI hardware, they aren't suddenly going to settle for what they were making < 2020. Unfortunately unless there's some sort of disruption or new market entrant this is the new normal. It's a shame and it may well kill the platform itself.
