The Radeon RX9070XT / RX9070 Owners Thread

Hmm, I'm not sure I monitor Memory temp when playing games. At idle on the desktop, with the fans not spinning as the GPU is registering only 42'C my memory temperatire is a rock solid 64'C and hasn't changed since I opened Afterburner.

Dose anyone on the forum actually have a 9070/9070xt with Samsung memory?

I got a Pulse 9070XT in April with Samsung memory.

I briefly had a Hynix steel legend and that performed around 7500 in steel nomad vs at best (game stable UV) of 7450 on the Pulse.

My settings are 2814 vram at default, 0 offset on the core and -110mv on voltage. 100% fans with zero rpm.

Max memory temps I’ve seen playing games with those settings is 84c.

I think the Hynix 9070xts perform better in benchmarks due to faster memory vs the Samsung variants.

Talking about the pulse, what is everyone's memory temperatures? The gamers nexus review said they were 90c?

Did and/sapphire update the drivers?
Not sure what memory I have, but booting up Ghostrunner at 1440p max with RT, my memory settled/capped out 82 degrees with stock memory clocks (no changes to power limit, but -75 undervolt). Sapphire Pulse 9070XT ofc.

So I got a Pulse 9070 yesterday, some stuttering in DayZ but been tweaking stuff and its slowly getting better..jury still out on that one :)

A few quick benches, only using -40 UV and maxed the power limit atm..

EDIT.. Samsung Memory, just about hit 70c running Timespy :)

A little longer (45mm longer) than my old trusty 3060 Ti but at least it fits in my Corsair 400C case with the 240mm radiator at the front :p

Amazed at the temps for 15% fan speed, seeing 48c - 52c in DayZ maxed out settings.. the 3060 Ti was in the mid 60's with lower game settings, really nice cooler on these especially in this weather!

@CAT-THE-FIFTH 3060 Ti finally retired! :D Sapphire Pulse 9070 - 08/07/2025

I've got a launch day Nitro waiting to go in a rig. Curious to see what that will come with.
My launch Nitro has Hynix and temps are good. The Hynix OCs really well too, 2760 with fast timings, game stable.
The card is great in general, runs cool, UVs stupidly well, -100mV on my GPU, and OCs on top of the UV.

Hynix has lower latency than Samsung and at stock frequency there was up to 3% performance loss with Samsung mem.
As heat isn't an issue and doesn't cause throttling on any 9070 XT, there's no reason to not want Hynix.

Good to know - I'm waiting on mine, and also have the same PSU.

Nate
Had a minor wobble after adding negative offset on frequenxy rather than voltage earlier but could have been game (Oblivion remastered) had triangular artefacts. Tried FS2024, KCD 2, and Steel Nomad benchmark with no issues

Ran the 20 loop of Steel Nomad -80mv and small overclock on memory and reported GPU temp was 60c (didn't look at hotspot temp), and PSU only felt minor warm to touch

Score was 7100 odd

Can't hear any coil whine yet even with ear to side of case

Hi folks,
I've had my Asrock Steel Legend 9070 XT since launch and I'm generally very happy with it. However, I'm getting driver timeouts when playing Forza Horizon 4 with my mates and it's driving me nuts!

Does anyone have a genuine cure for this? I've tried pretty well all the suggestions I've found online for this issue, which it seems has plagued AMD for years! I've got to admit that I'm beginning to regret buying AMD, never had issues like this with my previous nVidia cards.

Please help! Cheers

the two times I was getting driver timeouts and it plagued me it turned out to be my system ram settings/bios and the first time was the m.2

did you do a fresh install of windows when you changed cards ?

I just sold my launch-day Nitro that has been sitting on a shelf since I got my 5090 in April. Didn't even check what mem chips it had.

Which are preferred this round, Samsung or Hynix?

Hynix appears ever so slightly faster, Samsung appears to be pretty significantly cooler.

It could be a number of things. Texture cache being one of them. If it’s on steam go into settings and remove. One of the guys on here had to resort to reinstalling windows. Might be worth getting a spare drive and installing windows to see if it’s that. I would also verify the game and do a repair. It might be worth going into event manager to see if you have any critical errors. What power supply do you have and what’s its age. Does it do it in other games.

Very impressed so far have had it running benchmarks and sitting in games etc and no crashes at -105mv undervolt, -8% power and memory overclocked

In benchmarks mostly a boost at 2750 or so but in Cyberpunk with path tracing and FSR frame gen have seen a boost at 3200

Mac power draw from wall 405w but in most games 380w total or below - AMD stats reading 275w in most games

Thanks for the reply Game
I've tried installing the game on another drive with no change.
I've not tried changing the ram timings however, it's currently using the XMP profile. I'll try putting it back to default and see if that helps, thanks.

I didn't do a fresh install of windows when I changed cards, however 2 of my mates are having the same timeouts on brand new 9070 XT builds, so not sure if it's worth the hassle.

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions eeii.

Not tried clearing the texture cache yet, I'll try that, thanks. The game is from MS Game Pass BTW.

I'm using a new Corsair RM750e psu which has been fine in all other games etc.

I'll keep trying all the suggestions and report back if I find a solution to help any others with the same issue.

Cheers
