The national licence is renewed each year. The SFA membership is not. They are seperate things. To obtain a licence a club must be a member of the national association. Are you suggesting that as per March 31st 2012 Rangers Football Club were not members of the SFA?

The term licence/ membership seem to be misused and interchangeable and I too have been guilty of misusing the terms on occasion, but they are very different things. A club requires a membership as a prerequisite of gaining a club licence.

The fact remains that The Rangers Football Club PLC was in possesion of an SFA membership as of the 27th of July 2012 and had it transferred to Sevco (now know as The Rangers Football Club ltd) on a conditional basis, to be fully ratified no later than the 3rd of August 2012.

Well done Eddie, you have found the company details of the new legal entity that owns and operates Rangers Football Club.

Again, you seem to fail to acknowledge the distinguishment that the SFA, SPL & SFL have made between the club amd the company.

Surely if no previous owner then it must be new?

As has already been pointed out, the previous owner of The Rangers Football Club was The Rangers Football Club PLC (now known as RFC2012). The new and current owner of the club is The Rangers Football Club Ltd (formerly known as Sevco Scotland) as confirmed by the joint statement from the SFA, SFL, SPL & the club.

There is a new report from the administrators up on Rangers' web site here (PDF).

It makes clear distinctions between the oldco (the company), Rangers as a football club entity (history etc) and the newco (the purchaser) so should clear up any remaining arguments.

Also of note it looks like the money owed to Rangers by the SPL was "sold" to the newco as part of these assets and this is part of the negotiations between all the interested parties.

EBT Case - Big Tax Case
13.17 The Big Tax Case is disputed by the Company and is subject to a first tier tax Tribunal. An
outcome has yet to be determined by the Tribunal and is expected in September 2012.

Hasnt the result of the Big Tax Case been expected nearly every month since the beginning of the year?

Yup and to think they could have saved loads of time and went to Mark Daly at the BBC he had it open in shut in a couple of weeks.

I'll be out when its out.

Only mentioned it since we're still waiting and it seems to have dropped off of media interest now that Rangers are in division three. However, it still has some bearing on Rangers as the EBT investigation by the SPL is being used in negotiations.

Still, hopefully the source of the administrators might give some credence to the date (as long as it's not a deadline? ;) ).

So Duff and Duffer are due £2.7 million still too much. Seems way short of the 5-8 million the financial experts we have on here were saying they would get.

Any of them care to post why it wasn't 5-8 million??? :D

Most of the big media sites were reporting that D&P were owed around £5.5m in fees so expected the majority of the bid as paying the administrators. Surprise surprise their figures were wrong or is it just the payment they received as a secured creditor?

You cant believe anything D&P say. They have proven themselves to be a shambles so are you surprised they made a mistake or provided misinformation? Wouldnt have been the first mistake they have made, or the tenth ;)

To anyone in doubt about the history of The Rangers, here's a simple analogy

Your granny unfortunately passes away, your grandad Mr Smith (after a period of mourning) re-marries.

His new wife lives in the same house, with the same money in the banks, with the same address and is called by her new married name Mrs Smith (the same as your Granny)

In fact your grandad is that tight, his new wife is wearing your old grannies clothes & wedding rings/jewellry

Is your Grandad's wife your granny?
