The real Mo Farah (or not...)

Amazed that nobody has yet pointed out the exact moment he should have come clean to authorities, packed his bags and headed back to some war torn ****hole of a place with no money, no support and no family structure. Some unbelievable comments here :D

Do you work for the Somali Tourist Board?

Just, wow. :p
So you've been taken in by his sob story, the guy was probably shocked it all went so far , the bbc and British athletics treated him like a Saint.
The upshot is it was at best a charade.
At the end of the day he could run around in circles faster than others, he's not that important or heroic.

Anyone who isn't a media celebrity would be treated differently, is that fair?
He should have come clean as soon as he was conscious of the situation he was in and the police should have been involved then.
As I said I don't believe any of it, it was at a minimum all based on a fabrication.

O

Oh come on!

There were little straight bits on the track too.

Police will be involved now ?
would be nice if he continues with an expose on the drugs culture, itself, trafficking of its own kind where (like USSR?) coaches/doctors, ok, maybe in the ignorance by the althletes are administering drugs for performance(money/sponsorship) benefits. Armstrong case, through compulsion, seems one of the few who come clean.

Trend for celebrities to speak their truth in public, not convinced these are altruistic, just an american/social media trend

Sounds like you've never really liked the look of him.

You could argue that Mo Farah in particular was one who really caught the attention of the nation, back when, despite 2 years of austerity, things still seemed quite positive around the summer of the 2012 Olympic games and the 'Super Saturday' when many of our athletes won Gold.

I'm not even a fan of sport, but I remember the country in general had a wave of positivity about it then.

What have you done to inspire people in the same way @Slam62 ?

West Midlands Police, or Telford and Wrekin Council might be interested in offering you employment, you sound like you have the right mindset for them... ;)
Oh, let me guess. You have a very good mate down the local pub who has a story or two to tell about West Midlands Police, or Telford and Wrekin Council.

Nudge nudge, wink wink.

No, their shocking behaviour is literally front page news...

He isn't being treated differently. The home office confirmed that due to his age at the time they have no ground for removal...unless you can sight similar stories from non celebrities I'm going to assume that this rule applies to all.

He was a child. I have no idea why your suddenly lumping adult virtues on a child. Rather than, ya know, pointing out that it was the adults around him that at the time that should be the ones being looked into.

@Slam62 - why don’t you carry on your victim blaming tirade in the Telford sex abuse thread? You seem to think the victim of trafficking and slavery is to blame here and should take responsibility for the criminality that they had to endure. Is it any different?
He was a kid who was trafficked and put into slavery against his will and through no fault of his own. He was likely threatened and coerced into not talking. And you want him deported? You’re messed up.

He hasn't been a child for a very long time

Not at all, not been in a pub for two years, The Independent can be your source of information, seeing as you are interested:

or The Guardian:

Perhaps the BBC? :

Now I am not saying Farah or whatever his real name is should be equated with these Muslim rapists, not all, but he hasn't chosen a very good news week to go hunting sympathy for illegal immigrants, or immigrants in general. The public anger around here is palpable.

I think he would have been better off with his mother,
I'm not clear how he escaped his captors and supported himself, I'm sure there's an explanation, there always is.
