Anyone fancy taking out his defences for me, the guy isn't in an alliance. I wouldn't mind some of the deut and crystal but I have no offensive fleet.

takes me 10 battleships and 5 heavy fighters to knock out his defence

Even if I knocked out all of his defences, 80% of them automatically get rebuilt, so there'd be no point, you'd still die anyway. Would take several waves of my heaviest ships to take them down enough for you to get in there.

EDIT - And once I get interplanetary missiles, I can then take out the defences, but res is required elsewhere at the mo. (research)

Ahh - If you raid in Gal2, it adds an hour onto your travel time... Even if it's 2:1... :(

So heading left in Gal 1 is the best.
And send a few cargo's to [1:483:10] - No defences either. ;)

I'm just trying to build some.

I only have like 7 at the moment. By *** end of the day I'll try to have about 30 with a bit of luck.

I have two farms within my solar system now. :)

Cheers for the new planet.

When I am attacking someone with defences do I send in my small cargo ships along with my light fighters in the same fleet or as seperate fleets? No more nice undefended targets that close to me anymore.

I have some new tactics for raiding now. I've got myself a Word list of the top 100 Alliances, and anyone I come across, active or inactive, I'll check to see how their Alliance looks. If it's significantly worse than ours (or not even in the top 100), probes are sent, with a view to kicking some ass and taking what I can :D

Is that a tactic or warmongering :D

I'm about to be very evil. Just found this guy in a nearby star system....

Nice resources, and the defences aren't that great. I could easily punch through, but I'd take a few losses which is always annoying. Plus, because most of his defences would get rebuilt, I wouldn't be able to send in 3 fleets as I don't think I have enough ships that could break through that 3 times.

So, I'm going to send in 3 small-ish fleets, then about 5 minutes before they arrive, 2 IPM's are going to knock out his entire defence, letting me walk in unopposed. :D

Nope, still mainly the inactive players, but I'm making notes on people and alliances. Anyone who is a complete non-threat will get probed. Never hurts to know what's nearby ;)

Well, I assume something along the lines of my scanning.

Start, 10SS's either side.
Then 10-20 SS's either side.
Then 20-30SS's either side.
Then check the first 10 either side again...
Then 30-40SS's either side etc.

So your area generally get's bigger and bigger, which also causes more and more people to wonder why their farms are not giving them any resources anymore.
(And if they have a moon, they can scan your planet and see that it's YOU who's been raiding his farms etc)

Aye. I have a few planets I keep an eye on to farm, but I know others do as well. I'm going to start a written list soon of who I've probed, when I've probed them, and if I attacked them. I find I keep scanning places I've already done just through forgetfulness.
