Bummer, you don't have any IPMs as I can take out his fleet with mine but accounting for his ground defences is another matter. Never mind, I will use my hit on his other colony to fund more cruisers and get him tomorrow ;)
 
If you get impulse engine level 5 then your small cargo's go at 10,000 base speed (twice their previous base speed) which means they keep up nicely with the cruisers/heavy fighters/battleships

Unfortunately they die far too easily, hence why i still have a fair few (30) heavy cargos, although some of my targets have no defence, which makes my small cargo's rather useful :)

The chance of counterespionage is essentially the likelyhood of him being able to scan you, and also the higher the counterespionage the more likely you are to lose your probes

There are two ways to gain more information from an espionage report:
send more probes (but increases the chance that the probes are destroyed)
increase your espionage level

If you give me his coords i'll send a few probes if i can, i'm level 7 so should get a full report easily enough...

Recall your fleet immediately.

You will lose it all. Get Speedsim (google it) You type in your attacking force and the defending forces strength and it will run the battle a few times and tell you if you win or lose. Invaluable.

Edited again because I haven't checked with speedsim but you will suffer huge losses. there are easier targets out there.

Undiluted ethics, I am at a similar level to you in uni 7. With that sort of force you should look for people with a small number of missile launchers, and/or a couple of small lasers, light fighters. You need to have a much better fleet than the person you are attacking to win. Probe a lot more people, a lot of people who you think are in alliances are actually quite weak. I have taken around 300k of res in the last 24 hours with a similar force to yours.
 
You never have a moon by default, you have to get it by having a fleetcrash on your planet. DF is debris field, where you send recyclers to pick up the resources from a fleetcrash.

He has Esp Tech 4, also highish level mines so that should be a good farm. :)
(Due to the light defence, and high mines... The res will build up quickly, and the "just cargo" raiders will not send ships to it.)

Undiluted ethics, I did a rough battle in sppedsim and this is the result.


The result of the battle cannot be computed exactly
The attacker wins with a chance of 0.0%, the defender wins with a chance of 96.0%.
The battle ends draw with a chance of 4.0%.

The attacker has lost a total of 325.000 units +10.000 deuterium.
The defender has lost a total of 58.000 units +0 deuterium.
At these space coordinates now float 67.800 Metal and 33.300 Crystal.

The chance of creating a moon is 1%.

So you would probably have lost everything! Possibly even have given him a moon.
