how'd you manage that ?

Well, I attack people who have i or I next to their name.

However, I haven't researched espionage tech. yet. So I just kinda take a gamble when I send cargo ships :p

nice thing is, you dont have to spend every minute looking at it, you can put it to build/research some stuff and check it when you want later when youve got more resources etc

ah right

im researching espionage before i even build any ships, mainly because i havn't researched the techs yet :p... but im gonna do espionage first for that reason, dont wanna get ships blown to bits !

well sent 1 cargo ship and 2 light fighters to guy in my system who had been inactiv for 2 weeks.

got mullared

:(

he only had 2 missile batteries but had some shield technology among other things and well got mullared :(

gonna take my time now think trying to rush raiding etc.

got quite a good set up at the moment though

BUILDINGS
Metal lvl 11
Crystal lvl 9
deut lvl 7
solar lvl 12
robotic lvl 3
shipyard lvl 2
research lab level 2

Missile Silos - 2
Small Lasers - 3

TECHNOLOGY
comp tech lvl 1
armour lvl 1
energy lvl 3
combustion lvl 2
impulse
laser lvl 3

saving for more power and a few other building upgrades now though, going to give up on research for a little while

Memphisto, raiding is good, trust me. Earlier you do it, the better. You want - nay, need - espionage technologies first. Work to that. Get one or two espionage probes. Spy on everyone whose name appears in white to you. Once you see a target with a nice amount of resources, get SpeedSim.

Work out what kind of forces you need to not only:
-Win with no losses.
-But also take the maximum amount of resources - i.e: 50% of what is on the planet. It becomes really good once you have espionage probes to cover for problems such as the one you came across.

In a few days after you get espionage probes, aim to have at least 5 cargos (preferably 10) and to repeatedly attack. If you constantly fill them up, you will be making loads. I so far have not heard of a mine than makes 20,000 resources in a single hour near the start of the game, so raiding MUST be good :)

Remember though, 3 attacks per planet, per day, maximum, or you'll be accused of bashing, and you can get banned for that.

so a deuterium mine is best on a planet in slot 15 as it will produce more than a deuterium mine on a planet in slot 5 at the same mine level ?

Yes. The difference between slot 1 and slot 15 production can be as much as 40 to 50%. HUGE help later on. Of course planets in slot 15 can be smaller than those in slots 4 to 9 (with 4, 5, and 6 being the best), so you'll need a little luck to get past the magic 150 fields...

might be mate, but im going to wait till i get heavy fighters and espionage, if you look at the solar system im in everyone in it bar the guy i attacked appears as a strong player

I went 3 systems either way and there was only one other guy i could attack so think I'll bide my time, build up the espionage and the heavy fighter techs before i raid again.

can see how it would be a very good way to get resource, though and looking forward to doing it once i get a proper fleet organised and sorted.

could do with that starter pack of resources from one of the more established members if possible

would see me up a couple of solar plants / metal mines

if someone with an abundance can spare some it'd be much appreciated

fanks :)

well i got a bit of deut but no metal to build a cargo ship as mine was destroyed (see above), is someone sends me some metal i'll send some deut

how much for how much though ? deut seems to be about 5 times harder to get than metal ?

EDIT: was saving for solar but used what metal i got to build cargo ship will be ready in approx 30 minutes.

got 2'000 deut i can send need metal so what you got ?

whats speedsim?

Google it. It predicts the outcome of a battle when you enter the forces involved and their strengths.

Memphisto, there is no real time to "start" raiding. As soon as you can attack is when you should start. Espionage is a must. Espionage will tell you when to start, as such, since you should ideally attack as soon as you are able to take on defences.

The old Planetarion term for them was Battle Calculator, but they never took into account the owner of the planet your attacking's mate who has a fleet 10x the size of yours and will steam roller your planet and fleet when they get back.

There is just one problem with that. In this, unless you are an interesting target, your mate will NOT waste thousands of deuterium just to power ships to attack you and get precisely nothing.

A good attacker keeps his fleets off his planet so that people don't blow them up and then recycle debris.

 Ok, been playing this a day or soo, I have lots of materials etc. but i'll be buggered if I can figure out how u get a Ship Yard...

you need a robotic factory at level 2 to unlock the building of a shipyard

you can view all of that 'what do i need to build xxxxx item' in the technology tab on the left :)

but i dont want to bugger you.. just so thats clear

Joined in the fun last night, Planet Heaven sent, player Archangelus. Likeing what I see so far, and I like the fact you can come back to it in the morning and spend your resources you've gathered overnight :)
