Quick question: I just colonised my first new planet, has 230 fields so I kept it. Do I need to build another research centre in order to build the new stuff on this new planet?

230 fields - NICE. :)

And no - You only need 1 research lab.
The research you do applies to all colonies you create.

Only once you have IRN do you need more research labs.

How exactly does IRN work? Each level of research is added together? So if one research centre has espionage 4, and another one has 6, then it acts like espionage 10?

No, it means the lab levels are added together. For example, I have level 10 research on one planet, and level 8 on another, so when I research something on the planet with the IRN, it acts like a like 18 research lab, and thus researches things much faster.

so if you have 5 planets with research lab level 2 on each one plus level 10 on homeworld it would equate to 10 + 10 ? or can you only add the levels together for 2 planets ?

From bibob:
When you´ve IRN 1, your highest + your second highest lab work together. When you´ve IRN 2, your highest + your second highest + your third highest worj together, etc etc.

Only labs that are able to do the research by itself can help, so a lab 6 can´t help with hyperspaceengine as you need a lvl 7 for that.

Hi all,
Just did my first big fleet crash today :). I destroyed 300 l.fighters with 60 battleships and netted myself 500k of each resources aswell. I getting very close to building my first nanite factory.

At this rate I should have over 100 battleships by Sunday.

my worst haul ever lol.... ok ok, it was a fleetsave and i didnt have any recyclers or esp probes..

The following fleets are facing each other at 09-16 13:00:20 , as it came to a battle::

Attacker helpimcrap (2:440:4)
Weapons: 80% Shields: 80% Hull Plating: 80% Type L.Cargo L.Fighter H.Fighter Cruiser B.Ship Bomber
Number 12 52 20 46 50 5
Weaponry: 9 90 270 720 1800 1800
Shields 45 18 45 90 360 900
Hull 2160 720 1800 4860 10800 13500

Defender Eruecco (2:440:2)
Weapons: 30% Shields: 10% Hull Plating: 30%
Destroyed

The attacking fleet fires a total of times with the power of upon the defender. The defender's shields absorb damage points

The attacker has won the battle!
He captures
8011 Metal, 2605 Crystal and 327 Deuterium

The attacker has lost a total of 0 Units.
The defender has lost a total of 0 Units.
At these space coordinates now float 0 Metal and 0 Crystal.

Yep - Nice one...
The only reason I wasn't doing that was because in order to recall your fleet for morning, you'd need to get up and recall half way through the night...

But, when my fleet is of the size that I can only set attacks up out of work, I'll probably do that.
Just recall them when I get up so I can use them later. :)

Why recall? Don't you have a planet close to your main raiding area? Couldn't you simply deploy your fleet there, and have an alternate raiding area every day? :)

I am seriously considering deleting 2 colonies, one for being too small and one for being in the wrong place. They have both had some time and res. put into them so would this be a mistake? I understand I will lose some points, but does the amount of points depend on how much res. I have spent.

This is report from a probe by a buddy last night, he has a nice bit of res:-

09-16 06:25:27 Fleet Command Espionage Report from gozt [1:438:10]
Resources on gozt [1:438:10] at 09-16 06:25:27
Metal: 388938 Crystal: 161873
Deuterium: 430314 Energy: 7890

Chance of counterespionage:89%

Yeah bet he has just wish he would leave me alone.
You do realise the guy is a member of TBO, one of the strongest alliances out there? The player himself is ranked 252. Best just to ignore him and make sure to fleetsave should be attack you.
