Guess you havent been playing for long nearly lost a fleet of over 160 ships the other day because it was phalanxed AFTER being recalled on a deploy mission. I had 5sec to turn my fleet around and run :D

The only safe way to avoid a phalanx is to deploy your fleet on a moon.
Kebab has been playing the game for months, much longer than anyone here, and knows more about the game than anyone here. He's also correct in saying a recalled deply fleet can't be seen. If your recalled fleet was phalanxed, it was due to a bug.

Thats not what the game rules say

5. How do I evade a sensor phalanx?

Currently, the ONLY missions a phalanx can't see are ones going between two unscannable objects. The only things that can't be scanned are debris fields and moons, so the ONLY safe fleetsave is one going either from a moon to a DF, or from a moon to another moon. This is why people always move their fleets to their moons - they're safer there, as you CANT be phalanxed. There is no way of telling if someone's scanning you, you recieve no message.

This would seem to say not seeing a recalled deploy is a bug, which has probably been fixed.

Intresting read, but lets keep throwing threads at each other :p

So what do we beleve

1)The Game rules (nothing in there about not seeing recalled fleets)

2)A trasnlation from the german version of the game

3)Real game experiance

It doesnt matter if its a bug or not, at the end of the day you can see recalled deploy fleets.

Im looking to start taking on people who belong to alliances having so far just gone after non alliance players.
i think i need a bit of help in identifying alliances it is safe to go after.

I see we have 100 members with a score of 470 in T.N.G.A which puts us 48th.
im guessing a alliance with 2 members and a score of 6 would be safe for me to go after, and most other alliances outside the top 50. or is this not the case.

i dont expect to go through the game never being hit but want to avoid picking on the wrong people were possible.

Yeah has he messaged the alliance?
He's been in touch with someone in TNG/TNGA anyway as somebody mentioned your name in the IRC room when i went in last night :p

I guess you just have to take the punishment like a man and if it gets really silly report him to a GO

No. You cannot be phalanxed on a recalled deployment.

There was a bug at one point, which was fixed if I recall correctly.

EDIT: Screw that, it still hasn't been fixed apparently. Sometimes your fleet will be caught coming back, sometimes it won't. I can't guarantee your invisibility. What I can guarantee though, is your opponent won't have a clue what your fleet is made of if he scans the original planet. So really, if you sent more than one fleet out (one being your main, the others being a single recycler, for instance, all sent in random order), and if things started to get ugly, recalled them all, someone seeing them all come back would have no clue in hell which one to take out :)

Sorry guys, I assumed a little too much, being a moon owner myself there...

However if your target planet (for the deployment) was in phalanx range, and your starting planet isn't, you WILL be safe, since to see the deployment mission recalled, you must scan the planet it left from. :)

I made a schoolboy error today it seems. I sent a colony ship to an empty slot. Seems there was no planet there :/

[edit]Hmmm. Now there's a noob there.

Yep - If the planet get's colonised before you get there, your ship comes back.

And you add that player to your "list". ;)

And Mr Kebab... I have 1 planet beside my current main raiding planet - I'm getting resources in quickly enough that it has:
lvl10 mines all round
lvl14 solar
lvl10 robo
lvl1 nanite (a day until it's complete)

IMHO - I am getting enough res in to keep it building continually for a while, so going for nanite that early will pay off rather quickly?
(next step will be shipyard lvl10, then BS's from it too)

Main reason for trying to build it up as quickly as possible is to replace the 135 field plaet in that SS with the new 266 field.
Once the new one is up to the old planets state, keep old planet for a few weeks (lvl22 metal, 20 crystal, 16 deut) or until I need a new colony slot.

Would it be better to keep upgrading the 135 field planet until it's full, or just leave it producing res (& BS) until a new planet is required?
EDIT - Oh, and would it be worth building a nanite on it if I am going to delete it in a few weeks/month?

And everyone else... My biggest raid to date (would have been bigger if I'd had more BS or LC's)
464.575 Metal, 464.575 Crystal and 120850 Deuterium
:D

Yay, past the 100 battleships mark :). Building about 15-20 a day. However they cost a load of deut to move them anywhere :(.
They do cost a load of deut, but they're worth it. :)

As for numbers, I'm approaching 250 battleships today, and should hit 50 destroyers tomorrow :)

Oh he's added, but there was nothing listed there when my ships were first returned.

He'll get a kicking though. That was a pos. 5 planet.

OMG  This person gone defense mad. It would make mince meat of my battleships.

Defence
Missile Launcher 5021 Small Laser 2235
Heavy Laser 852 Ion Cannon 256

That's nothing. Get on our forums and look for a thread I made, Fizz put the defence of someone up in there and it's insane, makes that look tiny.

We found a guy who had a total of 20,000 defense units (all kinds).
Damn no one was going to try to get the 10,000 resources he had on that planet :p
