***The (renamed) official Ogame thread***

it needs to be a indirect link to get past minesweeper, it has learnt I have been spending days on this site at a time a thought it would put a stop to it

Given that 3 attacks are allowed per day, and each attack is allowed 3 waves, does that mean you can send 9 waves at once?

Cool.

Though waves right after one another drop in percentage gained each time don't they? So you can't entirely clean someone out.

Just a guy near me has huge mines and has become inactive so I'm farming him :D

Your first 3 waves will clear out 87.5% of the available resources (that you saw on your esp report). I personally wouldn't do more than that, unless I didn't have the cargo room to carry 50% of what was available each time.

Fair enough :)

Ta.

I'll be hitting this guy fairly regularly. I think he might have even been in TNGA at one point. He was certainly in an Alliance that was familiar to me.

Who is "they"?

Random players a lot stronger than me in the area. Things have calmed down a lot over the last two days so looks like they're getting bored of me hopefully but I'm still fleetsaving just incase.

Fleetsave is a must, the one day you forget someone will get you.

Combine that with continual probes for a week after just because they are like sharks smelling blood.

Indeed.

Fleetsave ALL the time.
Not just when you have a lot of probes coming in.

It only takes 1 probe to see your fleet and an attack can be launched.
If you don't fleetsave, prepare to say goodbye to your fleet. :)

Even if playing other games, I wouldn't leave ships for over 30 mins unattended.
That's all it takes for someone to hit you in-system.

Good job on the score, you're recovering well from your crash :)

Who's the guy you're farming anyway? I might remember the name if he was in TNGA.
User is called 'Alex'. Mesmorize and Constitutionalize and stuff like that are planet names.

Well I just got attacked and lost pretty much everything and the guy took all the res from the field.

All because I miscalulated today and some of my stuff got back at 8.44pm instead of 10pm.

Unlucky, but it seems you are rank quite high. did you invest more in fleet or mines?

If its the latter then it wouldn't take you long to recover.

I'm not too sure as I don't know what everybody else done.

I had about 60 Heavy Fighters and about 60 BS's altogether with a loads of large cargoes, and a handful to recyclers and bombers.

I've got about 30k points at the min. It sounds like a pretty small amount for my entire fleet so i'm guessing i mainly invested in mines.

Investing in mines is good - Better in the beginning than investing in fleet IMHO.

Yesterday, over 24 hours, my mines brought in:
1,186,320 Metal - 603,264 Crystal - 221,976 Deut

Raiding, the usual way, with about 30 individual attacks:
1,413,328 Metal - 886,734 Crystal - 480,717 Deut

So raiding did bring in more, but the mines are still a large part of my income.
And whether I am playing or not, the res still comes in.
Quite a few weekends I've been busy, and done nothing with OGame.
As a result of high mines, I have lots of res when I get back. :D

I need to get more time to sit down and probe 100's of people though.
And comp tech 12...

The problem with mines is to keep upgrading them I need lots of res sitting around doing not much, and I have several big-hitters (including absence) within a few SS of me.
