Chop chop! Pictures gpu waterblock? How come you chose 12mm tubing?

I checked a while back and they said 3-4 weeks, but that was at least a couple of weeks ago. Direct reckons 7-9 days now, so I guess we're looking at May?? I'm getting really fed up of waiting! LOL

I've always used 12mm tubing to be honest, so all my fittings have always used 12mm. There's no functional difference between tubing sizes it's mostly just ascetics and bend radius.

Fixed that for you :D Your G1/4 fitting will have a through bore of no more than about 10mm so those are going to be your restriction for any tubing over 10mm ID. Larger bore tubing would have a lower 'resistance' but over the lengths we're talking about, I suspect it's negligible. Personally I try to stay at 10mm ID as a minimum so I don't further restrict it more than necessary. But you've already got the 'right' idea and gone hard tubing....can't go making life easier than necessary for yourself! :D

The only real video comparison I could find on it is a LTT video from 6 years ago.

But 10mm ID was 25.8c idle with 50% pump speed, and 61c at load with 50% pump speed.

13mm ID was 25.9c idle and 61.4c under load
Basically it's close enough that any difference is probably measuring inconsistencies.

Final decision to make is; do I mount the GPU in it's regular orientation? or since I have the vertical mount do I mount it vertically so you can see it?

Nice.
One vote for vertical - be a shame not to see the pretty side if you have the option to. Always thought it was a shame GPUs often end up upside-down.
 
Looks like vertical is the choice.

I haven't had chance to take my PC apart just yet; I was deep in my 2nd play though of Baldur's Gate 3 with the new classes.
Vertical. Only takes a bit longer to get rid of the tiny air bubbles that may, or may not, stay where the water flow is reduced, but only likely to happens if the whole loop restriction is high for the pump to deal with.
 
Sorry for the lack of updates; I fell down the Clair Obscur rabbit hole and it's taken me a while to find my way out!

I finally managed to install the waterblock today; and I'll post some pictures tomorrow. I ended up going with the vertical installation.

It's looking great and the temps are really solid (50c max when benchmarking Cyberpunk @ 5210x1440, with everything switched on).
