The Royals

Dear lord Harry just needs to **** off. We get it. You don't want to be in the royal family and you have struggled with it. That doesn't mean you get to drag your family name through the muds and generally be a selfish ****. Life is not sunshine and lollypops for pretty much anyone and Harry is one of the most privileged people in the world and he still whinges.
 
Harry needs to just shut up now. He's really grating and playing the victim card at every opportunity after the disaster that was selling out his family. Here he is looking for more sympathy on camera with Oprah yet again.

He's gone from being the most popular royal to one of the most disliked (I think Andrew holds that title). Conversely the Queen, William and Kate seem to have grown in popularity because of him.

I think he doesn't really care how he appears in the UK. He seems to only care about how he appears in the US.

This seems to be a subject where people will cling to whatever set of facts supports their preference. I'm never convinced with the whole 'but tourism and other revenue!' argument, as it infers that all income and tourism would just evaporate in the replacement, which is a bit silly. It's not as if Buckingham Palace would sprout rocket boosters and blast off into space.

I sense that a change in public perception will come when the Queen dies, as we don't really think of the Queen as an actual queen - more of a nice old lady. When Charles takes her place and we have a king, that will seem a bit dissonant. A king?! WTF is this Game of Thrones BS!!! Particularly with our new national anthem... which will presumably be God Save the King.

I do think that it would be convenient for the Royal Family if Charles abdicates and it goes to William. The idea of a 'younger' king is more appealing.

I like this post - I think it reflects how I feel.

I'm not patriotic in the slightest for any of my nationalities. I also don't care for the royal family at all. I think it's quaint - and just an idiosyncrasy of the UK. However in my eyes they add little interest or value (to me). That said, they don't bother me. I don't stand for the national anthem and not really bothered about the queen. I see them as celebrities more than anything else.

He had a good whinge about the first amendment the other day which will have hurt his popularity amongst a large proportion of americans so he is doing what he can.

Yep, I find it really strange that people assume that you either must love the royals or hate them. Most people quite like them for what they are. Something a bit different. Its part of our culture and our history.
 
Indeed - it's different, and it just gives something that others don't necessarily have. I think hating them is daft, but I also don't understand the undying adoration some people have for them either.

I feel like he isnt going to stop until the Royal Family is abolished. This latest set of accusations is surely now the nail in the coffin of any chance of reconciliation with the rest of the RF

Yeah, they wont lose their titles, at this point after everything thats been said you're right, it would just immediately be spun as an act of racism against Meghan, so in that respect they have the Queen over a barrel. The whole thing where he says that they chased Diana to her death because she was involved with someone who wasnt white and that they are doing it again with Meghan and wont stop until she also dies" has pretty much made it now impossible for their titles to be removed without immediately giving them the ammo to yell I told you so.

No idea, I dont really follow what she does. To be fair to her, I think she gets a lot of misplaced venom, like many when all of this first started I jumped onto the this is all because of Meghan, look what she has done to our Harry bandwagon, but to be quite honest the more I see and hear of Harry, the more I think that a lot of this is actually down to Harry himself. I think we're only just now really starting to see the real Harry and its very much not the Harry that I had thought all these years. IMO the guy is seriously messed up in the head for one reason or another. My opinion is that the very best thing for him as a person would be to not have the titles, to stop going in front of cameras and to get the hell out of the limelight and go live a quiet, non interview, out of the way life where he can come to terms with himself.

Trouble is that I dont think he has any intention of doing that, I think he has an axe to grind and he isnt the sort of person who to quote the song "know when to walk away". I think he is going to continue lashing out publicly until thats all there is left of him.
