Pretty cool, I'll likely end up buying a friend of mines 4090 at a huge price discount when the inevitable 4090 Ti, Or if they call it a Titan, Gets announced late next year :D

Yup I am very tempted by a 4080 16gb, the 4090 native RT performance is ridiculously good  3080 is still holding it's value very well so 4080 16gb won't be too much of a hit on the wallet after selling it. Hopefully amd can compete on RT and DLSS 3 and if not, at the very least force nvidia to drop prices :p

Seems that in the end DLSS 3 was just more hype. It has a good chance at being a good addition in the future but right now it has enough issues that it's not a big selling point imo.

I'm sure they'll improve on the quality-of-frames to get rid of the artifacts present (and game adoption will increase) but for me the biggest downside right now is the inability to cap the fps. That's simply unacceptable.

Also, I wonder if these RT games are using the optimisations that nvidia talked about, the SER iirc. If not, then there is another big boost for RT performance down the line. Hopefully ampere etc. will benefit but most likely won't....

With Nvidia once the new stuff comes out previous series owners are left out in the dark, I expect nothing but game compatibility updates and security updates for 3000 series cards going forward.

Also did everyone notice that DLSS 3 in reviews was very weird and even some channels said it didn't work at all and caused the games to crash to desktop with errors.

Also 4080 12GB is DOA as it is basically a 3080ti with a 4080 name and DLSS 3 from nvidias results there, but we will see when reviewed I'm guessing on average less than a 3080ti in games with no dlss or rtx.

Is that by any chance the footage slowed down entirely to capture the "fake" frame? (which we all know does have artifacts) ;) :p :D

I suspect this will be a bit like dlss 1, any issues like that (which are noticeable in gameplay...) will probably be mitigated with dlss 3.1/3.2

As for the crashing issues, apparently no issues on an intel based system, only amd  Although amd have just released bios there to "improve support for 40xx gpus".....

Just like I did when it came to the 3080 vs 3090, I won't be paying over double the price just to get an extra "10-15%" boost so it will only be the 4080 16gb as a consideration for me, 4090 is stupidly good but not worth it at that price imo. I suspect in future RT titles especially where SER is implemented, the 4080 12gb will pull far ahead of the 3090ti.

Better than native :p

Watch as people now use this image for their hate spiel of "dlss sucks"

My 3080 cries now :D

Looks incredible the visuals, really notice the improvement in lighting  I'm hoping fps will at least be 60 with dlss performance @ 3440x1440
...? That's 'Psycho' RT (not the new mode) - you can already run that at 1440p 60 fps+ on a 3090/Ti with DLSS (and the visual difference from Ultra is negligible - just an extra bounce I think).

I need more coffee! :D

Having said that, think I know why, the in game fps overlay is very low i.e. 40-50 fps, probably why I thought it was the new one "overdrive" mode :p Yet just looking at rivatuner there, it's fps is double what the in game is showing? So maybe in game benchmark doesn't register the "fake frames"?

Game looks a lot clearer/detailed compared to other videos of that benchmark though. Hopefully DF will do some comparisons of dlss 3 to 2 to see if the super resolution aspect has improved any further.

Looking forward to seeing what the new 'RT Overload' mode visuals are like!
Same!

I slowed the youtube playback right down there to see if any artifacts and nothing was jumping out to me even when changing from bar to outside scene. IIRC, DF/Richard stated that all the footage is still using an early build of fg/dlss 3 and will likely improve but he made some comment like "we think spiderman is as good as it will get though" which seems to suggest there might be some game specific things that'll need to be done and it won't be a clear cut implementation across the board so wouldn't be surprised if we see good examples of fg/dlss 3 and bad examples, much like was the case with dlss and fsr 2 in the early days.

Bet you wish you had a 3080 Ti

Dying for that extra 2gb vram! :p
